I suppose it's possible, but to me unlikely. We know for a fact that she has been brieifing the Telegraph they had direct quotes from her that only they had. Just this week they did a profile of her. AND the Telegraph get the exclusive on the leaked letter. No smoke without fire. Seems more likely to me than the improbable conspiracy theories.Originally posted by REDrascal View PostCould it not be Hicks who released the letter etc, to make Stavely/Dic look bad, ready for today. Dic did after all deny leaking any letter. Just a thought.
Hicks is after all a cheating deceitful prick. He would know how fans would feel if he knocked back Dic, could be he was just preparing the ground. The Crushing Machine MKII

Hicks is a crass, unsubtle loud mouth. I'm in the US and I don't know a single Texan that is as sophisticated as you imply Hicks would have to beOriginally posted by MrMichael View PostYeah, see my edit.... would have been quicker if my net hadn't had a bloop
Hicks has said a lot of stuff too, I dunno, he doesn't strike me as the type to start blowing multi-million pound deals that he needs, and will make him lots of money, over a few statements in the press. The problem is that DIC want some proper power in the board room, he wants to have the absolute say. That quote about "ruling by committee" or whatever is crucial one. That's a pretty big impass I think.

I resent your tone and implication. My conclusions are based on deduction based on known facts. Yours are based on ignorance and a desire to put down others who don't agree with your hysterical interpretation of things.Originally posted by m100900 View PostJudging by the old saying 'What you don't know can't harm you', you two should be invulnerable.
Al Ansaari briefed in exactly the same way a few days back - is he another showboating bitch or an amateur?
Or could it be business strategy and you two can't see past your jerking kness ?
Let's see if I can get to your level. FO.The Crushing Machine MKII

Fair enough, i just find it hard to believe that DIC would be so naive.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostI suppose it's possible, but to me unlikely. I'm no Hicks apologist, but. What has he lied about? Securing against LFC? He didn't!Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostHe's lied about plenty more than that mate. Don't know where you've been. Personally (can't speak for others on this site) I don't want DIC because they are owned by the 5th richest person in the World.
The main reason for wanting a takeover was to take the team and the club to the top level (on the field and in marketing etc). However, the last year has been an absolute joke. They said they weren't following a Glazer model, yet their model is even worse than that.
The club is saddled with unbelievable amounts of debt it's shocking. DIC should be our owners now. So what if they took a long time over Due Diligence...it was better than doing it in a week or so like Gillett and then ****ing up after.
Al Ansari shone out because he was one of us. Comes to the games, was a Liverpool fan. Took time out to talk to Gerrard, Rafa and Carragher and explain their plans. Even Gerrard and Carra spoke highly of DIC
I'm sorry, but there is no comparison between Hicks and DIC. Hicks has ****ed up time and again and shown he doesn't care about the club. All this **** going on the evening before we play Inter is a joke and he shows how little he cares about the club.
The sooner Hicks gets out the better. I hope the Sheikh ****s him up big time now and doesn't even leave the cock with 51%. As the Yanks would say, smoke Hicks' motherf*cking boots
Did they say we could have snoogey doogey? Sure, did they deliver Babel, Torres and Mascher instead? Yes.
Being an obtuse **** (which is an american trait) and which I see as part of a cultural acclimitization that he did not realize he needed to make. Where really is the problem? The Crushing Machine MKII

Rafael Benitez trying to keep mind on the game amid instability
Oliver Kay in Milan
It was entirely in keeping with the Anfield soap opera that Liverpool's preparations for an enormous European Cup tie against Inter Milan in the San Siro this evening should revolve around a storyline more akin to Dream Team. Story one focuses on the boardroom, with the brash Texan owner angrily pulling out of takeover talks with an investment group from Dubai, and story two on the dressing-room, where the manager is making plans without his one-time protégé, who is 800 miles away on Merseyside attending the birth of his first child.
Xabi Alonso, whom his team-mates used to call the manager's son, is the player in question, his once-filial relationship with Rafael Benítez put under further strain by his decision to be at the side of his girlfriend, Nagore. The Liverpool manager did not condemn that choice outright but nor, when asked whether he understood Alonso's point of view, did he express the slightest empathy with the midfield player, whose pleas to fly out today, if the situation allowed, were firmly rejected.
“We were talking, but he had a clear idea,” Benítez said. “He wanted to come if everything was OK, but we can't wait and wait and wait. The most important thing is to think about what to do with the other players.”
Benítez, the arch-strategist of European football, will certainly have a Plan B, most probably involving Lucas Leiva alongside Javier Mascherano in central midfield, and it is perhaps a blessing that he had a tactical dilemma to wrestle with, given that the alternative was reflecting on the latest twist in the Anfield takeover saga.

With typically impeccable timing, Tom Hicks, the club's co-chairman, issued a statement last night declaring that he had “terminated discussions” with Dubai International Capital (DIC), the would-be owners, over their alleged insistence on “managing the club by committee”. DIC may now proceed with their bid to buy George Gillett Jr's 50 per cent stake without Hicks's blessing.
Given that he had reconciled himself over the previous days to a power-sharing arrangement - one that might suit him, given that it would mean the immediate departure of Gillett, who has little or no time for him now - Benítez is likely to be unsettled by last night's statement from Hicks, news of which reached him shortly before he arrived at the San Siro. Asked for his reaction to the news, Benítez said: “My reaction is that we must try to score and try to win tomorrow. We're just thinking about the game.” It is as well. Liverpool may be 2-0 up from the first leg, after late goals from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard, but this is an awkward assignment against an Inter team who, for all the troubles they endured at Anfield, are the runaway leaders of Serie A.
Benítez, though, will feel that this match appeals to his penchant for strategic football. Last night, he stated the importance of scoring an away goal, which would leave Inter requiring at least four goals to win the tie, but he will also be aware of the need to keep Roberto Mancini's team at bay. With Inter possessing two towering centre forwards, Julio Cruz and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Benítez is expected to reunite Martin Skrtel, the recent Slovak signing, and Sami Hyypia in the centre of defence, with Jamie Carragher moving to right back and Steven Gerrard again operating behind Fernando Torres, whose pace, Gerrard said, will frighten Inter's makeshift defence.
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/spo...cle3525753.eceJust believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
