They had to prove to th council they could afford the new stadium. There was a big deal made in the press about this so I think (and that is the key part here it is only my belief) that he felt he had no option but to sell. They obviously made all the right sounds in the meetsings with moores, just a shame they didn't follow it through.

I was just always of the opinion the search for investment had dragged on that long another few months wouldn't have made much difference. I guess the stadium might have come into it as you say but I guess we'll never know

Do anyone know if Gerry W Hicks is related to Tom Hicks?

He is the senior vice President of HKS, the company that will build our stadium.

Lets not forget that at that point there was only 2 choices, G&H or nothing. Moores didn't have another choice as DIC walked away. Amazing how this is always forgotten.

Maybe even DIC underestimated how UTTERLY STUPID Moores & Parry were, thought they would wait & count to 100 before throwing the club into the hands of Someone like Hick's. ****wits.

Which is exactly what they should have done, Thoroughly CHECKED H&G over, Then decided , 'oh my god, we can't ever sell to these guy's, they're Football Buisnessly Insane,.....Call DIC Now & tell, no Ask them, same price as AGREED, We wan'to sell to you'.

Funny - that idea I mentioned a few weeks back, when Hicks had forced through, that it should be the HKS-design, that won. I cannot find any link - only an old dallasbased story at:

Who do you think leaked the DIC seven year plan, if it ever existed?

Only really two options, Moores or Parry. That gave them an excellent excuse to dump DIC and they really needed one at that time.
