He played a few games for Sydney in pre-season before we move the transfer forward. By all reports he was excellent for them in the few games he played.

I have seen him in training with Sydney FC, and a mate of mine's son played and scored a few goals against him in the various leagues around the southern area of Sydney. My mates son is an attacking midfielder who is going to FC Basel in a couple of months to play for them. He is 17-18 years old, but has a cracking shot on him. Anyway back to Dean.

From what I hear and see he is a good keeper, without being brilliant. The Sydney FC Coaching staff rated him quite highly as a good prospect for the future, they said he had everything a good goalie needed, expect top level experience. Watching him in training sessions with the other Sydney FC keeper Clint Bolton he was not as good, he did not fully commit himself to stopping the shots - but in hindsight it was probably because the lad did not want to hurt himself, and risk his shot at Liverpool. After seeing the training session I also went out to dinner with the lads in the team and got to talk to Dean for a little while. He was blown away by the opportunity to play for Liverpool, he was amazed at the quality of the facilities and the size of the operation at Anfield and at Melwood.

He also said that he met Gerrard, Alonso, JC and Crouchie who were all good to him. He also reckons that Jamie is one person in the team he would not want to piss off !

Anyway his couple of games for Sydney FC were OK, from what I have seen he is good - just don't think he could be the next Pepe Reina though.....

Greece could certainly use a good keeper

Well at this stage, as long as he has potential and raw talent, that's the main thing. He is still extremely young for a keeper so has plenty of time and opportunity to improve. He has two international teams after him by the sounds of things, so I'm sure he can make it.

He is a quality shot stopper. Has been abit error prone in the Academy this season though and he obviously needs to cut this out asap.

He is a wonderkid in FM08

Feck off, we'll be needing a new keeper fairly soon.
