It slightly irks me that people set them up as judge of who can or cannot be a Liverpool fan.

Whether or not I like Mourinho (or anyone else for that matter) is irrelevent to my point.

I am afraid you have no say on the matter - some Liverpool fans would have Mourinho. Perhaps you didn't mean it literally, but I am still smarting after today's defeat.

I meant it in the way that this tosser rubbished our club for 3 years, took the piss out of fans and tried to undermine us any chance he got.
Why would we want someone like that managing our club?

And i didnt mean the Liverpool fan bit literally

There are many factors to consider on this.

            My take on it...

Takeover talk plus the fight between Hicks and Rafa has not helped and still is ongoing.
Talk of dressing room unrest isnt helping
The fact that winning the CL may be a lifesaver for Rafa and is having a knock on effect in other comps.
Having a squad that relies on two players
            Rotation policy

There is a lot going on at Anfield at the moment. You could say a crisis of sorts. Its very un-liverpool like.

Should Rafa go? I dont think thats the answer right now .......right now I said.

Its unfortunate that todays game fell on the weekend before the Inter game. Had it been a week earlier, I think today would have been a different outcome. Plus with the Internationals just been, he obviously feels a rest is on the cards (you know how his mind works).

I think our biggest problem is the fact that we look average without Torres in the team. Even today, Gerrard as soon as he came on made something happen.

Is the squad poor? Not sure on that. I think we have individual players with top class skills but as a unit? I think we have character issues.

Then you have to look at Rafa himself. What does he want out of his time here? Does he hold the respect as say a Fergie or Wenger amongst his players.

I really dont know what will happen. The easy answer is DIC come in, give Rafa £100m and say go for it. But can we trust him to spend £100m?

Rafa of late has looked an average manager. It mirrors the last year of Houllier's reign and if we lose to Inter now, the pressure will be unbearable.

I suppose Rafa could go on to win number 6 but in the long term, would we settle for the odd CL win amongst years of failing in domestic football?

Rafa! Go back to basics. Pick your best team and stick to it.

Of course its not all about Rafa. The players who play should shoulder a huge amount of the blame.

Why disturb the back four by playing Itandje. He's not a patch on Reina.

All in all, the players owe the fans an apology. The game against Inter is a great chance for them to show, you know what people, we do care and we want to prove it.

            Summer isnt far off now.

Cant wait for the cricket season.

Rather long post full of nonsense probably. Sorry

Personally Rafa has always been too defensive and cagey for my liking and i feel has made some bad calls in his time, but today my feelings are that the players he sent out to do the job were plently good enough and some of them need to take a serious look at themselves because they are simply not good enough or their attitiudes aren't good enough to be a liverpool player!

This season I have no idea what's going wrong.

We started the season playing well when we had loads of possession - eg v derby - which was an improvement on the year before.

We seemed genuinely impressive in the league until the Man U home game which seemed to knock the confidence from us. It was as if the players thought there was no way we'd win the league from then.

Since then we've tried hard and I don't think anyone has really outplayed us but we have been sh*te in attack - clueless really. I don't think its been lack of effort in any way. We just seem desperate when we really go for it- hopeless efforts from Gerrard, Riise etc spring to mind.

Kewell has the brains but just can't beat a guy, Babel probably the other way round. Crouch is only of use for a mid table team and god knows whats happened to Carra - back to the earlier model really.

No idea how to sort out all that though

Hansen: Rotation and caution is a problem. Liverpool don't roll over teams anymore.
Liverpool usually play well in the Champions League but if they lose there is a crisis at Anfield.

IMO the hopeless efforts from gerard are happening due to his lack of confidence in the strikers. he knows they will never score (torres apart) and so resorts to long range efforts. bring in better quality strikers would stop gerard trying the impossible efforts.
People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Can't slate Gerrard for anything. IF people stick up for Rafa based on 2005, then Gerrard should get even more praise because it was him that dragged us back into that game and helped us win it.

Sad fact is if the players dont play for the manager then you can't sell the team. The manager has to go. The last two or three months have been a disgrace. Rafa has come out bad with the Yanks also. We need a fresh start. Rafa has never cut it in the league over here.

                                Rafa's reaction...

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez was left to rue his side's lack of a killer instinct after they were dumped out of the FA Cup by Barnsley.

Championship side Barnsley caused a major shock as they came from behind to record a famous 2-1 win at Anfield.

Barnsley goalkeeper Luke Steele was Liverpool's nemesis with a superb performance on his debut to deny the home side on numerous occasions.

"It is very difficult [to describe his feelings] you must be frustrated today," Benitez told Sky Sports News.

"In terms of work ethic we cannot say anything to the players. They worked really hard, we had a lot of chances, but again it was the same situation as in other games.

"We are controlling games but we cannot take our chances and finish games.

"So today was the same. The keeper was a very good signing, he was man-of-the-match with some great saves.

                                "I am really, really disappointed.

"We had chances, their keeper made fantastic saves, they score in the last minute and sometimes that is football.

"All we can do now is prepare for the next game, we know it is an important game so we must put our heads up and be ready to work really hard for this game."
