If their keeper hadnt have had the game of his life and we'd have won 3-1 or 4-1 or 5-1 or whatever would it still be Rafa's **** tactics, **** substitutions, Rafa's lost it ......

I think its papering over the cracks then isn't it.
Even if we had won 10-0, there are still problems with that squad we have.
At least getting beat will bring things to a head and something might just get done now.Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.
Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

It's not just a one-off result though mate.
We've been rubbish since the Derby game. Almost didn't make the CL knockout stage, dropped way too many points in the PL against inferior teams, got knocked out the CC (ok, not too much of an issue). Then in the FA Cup we had to replay with Luton, struggled against H&W, and then we lose at home to Barnsley.
On top of this, he's been making mind boggling tactics (Lucas LM last week), he threw the Reading game away by taking off Torres & Gerrard. Persists with Kuyt and similar players who aren't good enough. We play awful football and on top of this we've got the off-field Rafa vs Yanks situation.
I don't think today's match reaction is particually knee-jerk when you look at it. And I'm a Rafa fan too

The "if" is directed at a championship keeper, something that Rafa tactics or team selection etc etc cant influence. Point is if Steele didnt have a blinder, same tactics, same team selection etc etc would have seen us win by 3-4 goals, these same things Rafa is being blamed for because we lost.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View Post"if"Play Outwar free webbased MMORPG here

Thye don't care. They want to blame - its human nature, I suppose, but they've had time to stop sulking by now.Originally posted by akjs123 View PostIf their keeper hadnt have had the game of his life and we'd have won 3-1 or 4-1 or 5-1 or whatever would it still be Rafa's **** tactics, **** substitutions, Rafa's lost it ......I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

So your blaming today on a keeper who was their backup having a great gameOriginally posted by akjs123 View PostThe "if" is directed at a championship keeper, something that Rafa tactics or team selection etc etc cant influence. I wasnt blaming their keeper. I am saying, and I have said clearly in the previous post as well, we would have scored 4-5 goals, had their keeper not have had the game of his life. Would people still find Rafa's tactics wrong, his team selection wrong, his subs wrong, had we won, like they are now that we lost.Originally posted by Radar View PostSo your blaming today on a keeper who was their backup having a great game

That's sport, unfortunatley (for us, at least). A team can dominate, but not win. Most days we'd have stuffed them (without our first choice central midfield and our star striker) - today we came up against somebody having a career day. It was a very bad time for this to happen, but it did. We need to sulk for a few days and move on. Things will get better.Originally posted by Radar View PostSo your blaming today on a keeper who was their backup having a great game

I agree we would not have questioned Rafa but this isn't just a one off game.Originally posted by akjs123 View PostI wasnt blaming their keeper. What 'if' Rafa didn't win the CL he wouldn't be a manager right now."What in the wide, wide world of sports is a-goin' on around here?" - Taggart AKA Slim Pickens in Blazing Saddles

Your right with this Liverpool team we will probably beat Inter 3-1 (I'm not being sacarstic either)

Agreed. Someone should go ask Arsenal fans what the feel about Robert Green.
In the past few games, we have had Titus Bramble scoring from outside the box, Marlon Harewood scoring from an overhead kick ... we have been terribly unlucky this season.Play Outwar free webbased MMORPG here

We're one of the most feared teams in Europe, not because we won the CL, but because everyone knows Rafa's one of the best in Europe.Originally posted by Radar View PostI agree we would not have questioned Rafa but this isn't just a one off game.
