    The big clearout.

Personally I hope Rafa is with us next season and has new owners who will back him.The man is a class manager and human being. His biggest problem is trusting players who are not top class and dont really give a **** about him.

I wonder if he thinks the squad needs an overhaul?
If so I will be totally behind him and give him time to build again.
If he keeps much of the current squad then he will be let down time and time again and will ultimately lose his job.

I would hope he would clear out the following and make a fresh start with a new inproved squad.

Hyppia - Liverpool legend but his days at a top club are over.No pace

Riise - Shocking close control, shoots anytime he gets near the goal and a hoofer of the highest order.Should be one of the first to go.

Aurelio - Just cant get fit or gain consistency and although I like his style,he just is never fit.Maybe keep him as a squad player.

Pennant - Has to go.No end product and no threat.

Kewell - Spent and slow as a snail.Release on a free.

Kuyt - Really like Dirk but the pressure of a top club got to him and sadly he should be moved on.

Crouch - Not top class and inconsistent.Cash in.

Voronin - Out of his league bigtime.

    Carson - Cash in

    Guthrie - Cash in

In I would sign pacey young players.

Bosingwa from Porto as a replacement for Finnan long-term with Arbeloa going to the problem left back slot.

Diego Milito as the big man up front and Lisandro Lopez the Porto pacey striker who scored at Anfield and looked quality to me.

Ben Arfa from Lyon to play the left and Bentley for the right.

We will see the best of Babel,Lucas and Skrtel next year and Agger will be like a new signing.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

Trusting players who are not top class

I think you are confusing trust with deciding to buy.

That is his team thats out there, not one he has inherited. So he should be judged on that.

When a manager picks a team he puts trust in the players he sends out.
I agree it's his team and like I said,if he is big enough to admit some of his buys are not good enough and move them on and replace them with top players then I think he is the man to take us forward.

If he thinks we dont need to change the squad drastically then we are going nowhere.

If he (Rafa) makes it to the end of the season I reckon two of Gerrard, Carra and Crouch will leave. Maybe all three.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If Gerrard leaves we'll be fighting for a top 10 finish, not top 4.

I still don't think we'll finish in the top 4 this season."

One thing that actually stood out as a good attribute of rafas was actually his ability to realise quickly when he'd made a bad signing and move them on fast. EG: Pellegrino, Nunez and Krompkamp. So this leads me to believe that he actually thinks Kuyt and Voronin are the future of LFC

That's what they were saying about Arsenal when Henry left

Wenger's got a proven track record with knowing when his big name players are past it, and once again he was proven right.

                      Gerrard is not past it.

Gerrard is not past it but he is a bad fit with the way Rafa likes to play football. I also think he is his own worst enemy when he demands to be in the centre which in the current set of tactics is not his best position for me.

I think if Rafa or any other top manager came in and Gerrard was sold it would depend on who we bought in as to whether it had a negative effect. We have seen during this crisis that Gerrard has not matured into the leader we hoped he would and we currently need.

He gave Morientes a season and a half.

I think both Kuyt and Voronin will be gone at the end of the season.

To be fair to Rafa Voronin has only been here five minutes and was injured during the transfer window.

Someone massive willl leave LFC in the summer.

It will be from Rafa or SG which may stir up another hornets nest.
Most noticabley from Rafa, if he leaves Reina, Alonso, Torres(?) and the gang may well follow.
If it's SG, he will probably be going alone.

As for replacements, the managers seat is usually FAR harder to fill than the midfielders.
