It looks like it will be Cruz and Ibrahimovic, starting up front for Inter. Therefore, he may look to play Carragher right back again and go with Skrtel and Hyypia, to combat the height. Without Jimenez, there is not a lot of natural pace within the Inter team, so it should suit Sami.
I would play Gerrard out right and Babel out left, get at the full backs, probably their weakest position and play Torres and Kuyt, and pull their central defenders everywhere. Alonso and Mascherano in the middle to control the pace of the game, smothering Cambiasso who can be so effective starting their plays. We need to pull Inter's defenders out of position Crouch is too static for that. We need to start with intensity as we did against Juventus; Crouch slows down the play too much for that. Kuyt will start as he can drop deep into midfield to give us an extra man. 2-0 Liverpool. Kuyt (2)
Reina
Carragher Skrtel Hyypia Riise
Gerrard Alonso Mascherano Babel
Kuyt
Torres

I think Rafa will go:
Reina
Arbeloa
Carra
Skrtel
Aurelio
Pennant
Gerrard
Mascherano
Benayoun
Kuyt
Torres
Not sure - I think he'll go with experience and play Kewell & Yossi on the wings, can't make up my mind about who should partner Carra either .... Skrtel has done well and has a bit of pace but is only coming back from injury - Sami's done really well for last couple of months (Barnsley aside)
Appreciate Kuyt's workrate but Crouch's aerial ability to defend corners may give him the nod - would love to see Babel start although it's unlikely & really wanna see Torres tear Materazzi a new arsehole
Even though Inter are riding high and we are at an all time low - I'm feeling confident & think we'll do it. Going with a 2-0 win methinks

Materazzi is gona be glued to him and giving him all sorts of **** so it means some of the other forwards will have to step up to the plate! He cant do it all himself up there he needs some decent support tonight!Originally posted by homer1 View PostNot sure - I think he'll go with experience and play Kewell & Yossi on the wings, can't make up my mind about who should partner Carra either .... If we play the game at our normal pace then I dont think Inter will like it, however if they get a hold of the ball and slow the game down then we will struggle.
It will be interesting to see the average ages of the two squads. Its not everything but im sure Inter have more experienced / older players than we do. Experience is important no doubt but can those players play their football at our pace ?[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

I'm starting to get more fired up for game now having looked at a few youtube clips etc.
Earlier on i was finding it hard to get prepared and fired up, all this talk over Rafa's future is overshadowing things for me, anyone feel the same?"Let me say for the record, I am not a gangster and never have been. Im not the thief who grabs your purse. Im not the guy who jacks your car. Im not down with the people who steal and hurt others. Im just a brother who fight back."

Here we go with the age for the inter team
toldo - 36
maicon - 26
matterazi - 35
cordoba - 31
zanetti - 36
cambiasso - 27
viera - 31 (if he doesnt play dacourt 32)
figo - 35
stankovic - 29
cruz - 33
ibrahimovic - 26
average age 31.36
I would be surprised if our average age exceeded 25 / 26.
If we set a high enough tempo here and in milan who knows what can happen ?[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

They've got plentiful of experience there though. They'll try to slow the game. Our passing needs to be spot on.

I agree - the italians are the masters of this and they're not top of their league for nothing. The play slow and slow then quick quick.Originally posted by fredo View PostThey've got plentiful of experience there though. They'll try to slow the game. Our passing needs to be spot on.
I guess they play in bursts and that's what wins them matches. We have to get into their faces and play a pressing game from beginning to end. If we can do that we can stop them playing and build from there.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]
