One great season win's us the league, then our record does'nt look so bad, europe etc. But to win it we MUST buy players of higher quality, we pale in comparison to Scum & Chav's buy's, could be we need patients till the stadium is up & running.

Arsenal last 3yrs no trophy, Fergie 7yrs to win the league,& thats with only 1 giant to dislodge. It's tough for Rafa, he buy's what he can afford, simple as. We could have Alves & many more at Anfield by now, were it not for financial reasons.

I think Top players will come to play for Lfc & Rafa, but we must be willing & able to pay for them. The only chance of that hapeneing before the Stadium Completion is if Dic buy & spend. Otherwise it's wait & support.

Looks like more ammo to prove that we're a cup team.

I kind of think that the constant emphasis on spending is unreasonable. We have spent a reasonable amount of money even if we have had to sell players in order to do it. We simply have more depth than say Arsenal yet less strength. I think that in future Rafa will have to look at this and change the balance of the signings he makes if he stays.

For me the key is whether Rafa has put in place systems which will mean that in the coming years we have top players coming through from the youth levels who understand what is needed at first team level. We have to assume we will not have the same vast spending power as United and Chelsea and proceed with a workable model from there. Huge signings should be a bonus, the icing on a well balanced but possibly rather unexciting cake so to speak.

We also have to make more of those wins happen in the league which means we have to exert pressure on the opposition using attacking play more often and look to have game breaking substitutes available on the bench even if these are younger players.

looking at thoose stats we've played 10 less games so we obviously didn't progress as far as the other 2.

you could play 3 games in every comp and loose the 3rd to get a better win%
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Fck Fergie, fck Wenger and fck whatever they have done, whenever!

We are the most successfull team in English football.I wouldn't swap Rafa with any of them.

The era of Internet chat rooms have highlighted every miniscule of events that were just not scrutinised as it is now.

Where has he been accused of not caring about the cups? If he has, apologies, but i dont recall seeing it mentioned that often.

The crucial point for me, is that in order to defend Rafa, you're having to supply stats from CUP competitions. There's a reason why you're not using league performance. The biggest priority is the league and his stats there dont match up, unfortunately.

Arsene has got to go, he's done alright for us but he's losing the plot now etc. etc.

That's what they were saying last season anyway when they were struggling for fourth place in the league and only got there at the end of the season when their local rivals (and rivals for fourth) had five or six players out with illness and the Premier League refused to postpone the game....

Not saying that we will go on next season and do the same as them, but there is a fine line between success and failure, and in my opinion we are on the same knife edge as Arsenal were last year at about this stage of the season. We need to be strong, keep the faith, get stability of the pitch and then come back stronger next season like they have. We are in danger of imploding, and starting yet another 4 year rebuilding process if we are not careful and panic.

I was thinking along the same lines. You can only lose one game in a cup and that's the end of the run. Getting to the 5th round of the FA Cup and losing gives you a 67% win ratio, which isn't that impressive really.

                            Silly stats

Except we haven't proven we can win the league. Rafa can't look back a couple of years and smugly remember going a whole season unbeaten and winning the title. Arsenal fans knew their manager had the ability to win league titles, we don't.
