In his earlier days, maybe but not in his latter days. He still contributed up there though which is what masher needs to incorporate into his game IMO. He has the talent, you can see it when he's on the ball, so just a bit of work needed. And plenty of shooting practise.

Because no one really knows who will pay for him, DIC or G&H.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Mascher talks the talk and walks the walk.

Brilliant tracking back for that exceptional tackle to day lad. He's ****ing gold dust - I bet Hamann was watching him with pride from the ITV studio bit.

What a player Mascher is - amazing display tonight. It will be criminal if we dot snap him up on a long long contract.

It's as if he has tiny feet on his arse to perfectly guide him when he slides into a tackle.

Thought he was outstanding again tonight. He always steps up to the plate.

Loved the way he gave it to Vieira when he came on after dominating the Inter midfield the whole game.

He's got a big ****ing heart, big ****ing balls and the talent to go with it.

We need more players like him.

Yep, but now also a great leader. If he is not signed long term there's going to be trouble.

He doesn't need to, it'll dilute his game. His game is about winning the ball and passing it simple, albeit the rare occasions he does motor on an attack.

He liberates more creative players around him, that's his job. One of the best, if not the best defensive midfield player in world football at the moment.

he's one of the best tacklers i've ever seen, incredible control and timing at full speed, he has a knack for getting it cleanly as well. for the amount of tackles he puts in he doesn't give away many free kicks. i bet other players hate playing against him, i know i would. athletically he is a beast, coupled with his desire and heart he is the prototypical holding midfield player. i still can't believe he couldn't get a game at west ham

his range of passing is underrated, i would like to see him showing for the ball and picking it up deep from our CB's to distribute and start our attacks. it would help cut out the aimless hoofing sami and carra are fond of

Absolutely awesone yet again tonight - you can imagine being an opposition player coming off the pitch after being shackled thinking there was 2 of him as he appears out of nowhere to nick the ball time and time again

Such an important player for us, nearly every game I see him in he is my MOTM, can't believe people are questioning whether he would be a wise signing at the price - beggers belief

The Chief is the sort of player we'd be hanging out to buy if he wasnt already with us. He could become one of the most pivotal signings in recent times. We owe that west ham player a debt of gratitude for keeping him out of the side.
