    Gerrards form

Stevey G has been playing ****e this season. I dont know if im being cynical here but it seems to be since he turned into a money making operation ala beckham that his forms gone tits up. I dont buy this its because hes on the wing stuff for a second. He scored 23 goals from the wing last season. To be fair to the lad, its more than likely just a simple fact of him playing ****e, especially after just having a world cup. But I cant help wondering wether he has took his eye off the ball a bit. Every magazine you open he is advertising summat, every advert break on the telly and he is on it. He just seems to be on a mission at the moment to make as much dosh as possible. I would suggest that he eases back a bit and focuses 100% on getting his game right. And if youre gonna make money, fine, but there is no excuse for selling your soul to the new of the world . As I say, it could be just a simple case of being in bad form, but it does seem a bit much of a coincidence that his form ****s off at exactly the same time as his money making machine kicks into top gear. My final whinge, what the **** is that ducks arse hairdo thing hes had going on in the last few games? makes him look like a puff.

I agree with you mate. I think it is more to do with bad form than anything else.
Although Rafa playing him out of position all the time doesn't really help.
He'll be back bang on form before you know it

I don't think it's fair to claim that Gerrard's taking his eye off the ball because of his advertising commitments, it looks like he's paying for all those games he played last year.

At the moment, he's trying just too hard and as a result it's effecting his judgement. He's desperate for a goal, and he's being just too greedy at the moment.

Both Stevie and Xabi are playing ****e at the moment! Stevie's just not 100% focused, you can see that. He almost never goes for a rebound and sometimes I think he's just tired of running up and down the pitch. He was a menace last season, but this year he's just not right.

And I believe that our recent bad form has to do a lot with Stevie and Xabi playing ****e!

I think Stevie and Xabi are a major reason for Rafas rotation at the start of the season.

The two of them played pretty much non stop from early July 05 to end of June 06, and were back training beginning of August 06, it's too much. It will take time, but I still feel they will be 2 of our key players this season.

At the moment there are very few players that went to the WC and are now playing to previous standards,
apart from Ronaldo.Hopefully both Stevie and Xabi will shake of the lethergy soon.

I find it peculiar, though, how people (excuse me.. journalists) continue to laud Gerrard and deify him when he is blatently playing way below par. Garth Crooks' (I know, I know) put him in his team of the week and he managed to get MOM on half the sites I've looked on. This kind of pathetic unconditional adulation certainly isn't going to get him back on track, especially if he is as media concious as you make out.

Also, for all Xabi's poor form, he manufactured the two best balls (bar Garcia's v West Ham) through on goal for us (to Gerrard v Blue****e, and Kuyt v Chelsea). If they had finshed up as goals which they normally would have I don't think he'd be getting half the abuse he is at the moment. He is simply another scapegoat. The chances are being made, but not taken, the strikers have got to accept the blame

i think his poorer form by his standards are due to the fact that he's playing wide and the game is taking place elsewhere. whenever he switches to the centre he looks dangerous again.

play any other player out of position and you'd expect him to play crap. but play steven out of position and we all expect him to play just as well.
