It's weird but I hate when we aren't playing towards the Kop end second half. I never feel like we are going to score when we are attacking Anny Road but when they are attacking the Kop end it's almost like you can will them to score with the noise so Shanks had a point! Just a shame we can't do it every game.Originally posted by mersey86 View PostI don't agree. Shankly famously spoke of the Kop sucking the ball over the line for some of our goals. The sharp footballing brain of Delia Smith spoke of the "missing" 12th man. If you view going to the match as a pleasant outing in which you are paying to be entertained, you've missed the point. I always viewed going to the game as paying for the chance to make a difference. In this age of multi-national teams and management, the passion of the supporters should be an inspiration to the players, pushing them to give their best effort every game.RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! I agree but if you go every game I doubt it's the same.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostYes but they groan all game if we don't score very early and complain all if we don't win 4-0 or something. I hardly ever get to go so I'm always excited when I have the opportunity.RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFA! RAFAEL! RAFAEL BENITEZ!

That game was played in SEVERELY mitigating circumstances
If the 'dappy mare' comment offended you, i genuinely apologise...it's a term i use meant with affection and obviously i shouldnt assume that you'd automatically take it that way, so i'm sorry.

You've never been to a game with me and you have NO IDEA WHATSOEVER what i'm like at the game, so **** off with your questioning of my support. :whatever:Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostI know that is true of DJS and CMS etc. But I think most of those in the Kop are better than that, are they not?

It's 50/50. The players have to want it and enter the game with that mentality. Likewise, if a player missplaces a pass or something goes wrong, heads can drop and confidence can go. It's upto the fans to get behind them and help them keep their belief and confidence up. Works both ways.Originally posted by -V- View PostBollocks. The fans do more than enough. Also its bloody hard to get an atmosphere going when usually fans are forced to stay seated
If the players showed more passion then the fans wouldnt have a problem getting a good atmosphere going
