Thanjk you.

I think Xerez cancalled his loan deal. He just played one game for them.
it wsa expected that he joined another spanish club on loan, but I havn`t heard that he did. he`s probably at Melwood now, but I can`t remember him playing for the reserves
He went to Oldham last season and they were in an intense relegation battle. My Oldham mates said they needed steel, grit and lots of heart - and Roque had none of this and didn't have the fight or the heart for a relegation battle.

I remember reading a mid term "report" by Paco Herrerra on the new youth recruits including him and he said that Hobbs was the one most likely to make it to the first team soon, Antwi was physically ready for anything but Roque was technically the best regarding awareness, composure on the ball etc although I am sure he made reference to him being too slight in build
Don't think he will ever make it, nor Antwi but I think San Jose could step up & make it. I also think a decision will have to be made on Hobbs in the summer - I wouldn't be against a Wenger-type 1 year loan to a Birmingham / Wigan or something as would hate to see him released without getting a proper chance

Out of all those you've just mentioned, San Jose has been the most impressive for me. Dare I say it.......he reminds me of Rio Ferdinand - a very composed, unflappable sort.

Completely agree about Hobbs. Danny Guthrie, and Scott Carson I suppose, are good examples of how those sort of deals can be successful.... ok, so neither of them has looked like actually returning to Anfield afterwards and establishing a place, but we've certainly got to see exactly what we would could have from them in this league, and it hasn't done their potential values any harm at all.

Exactly, neither Carson nor Guthrie look to have a future at Anfield but what they've shown they are good-to-very-good premiership performers and their transfer values should reflect this.

He seems a bit slow for me. It helps having a bit of pace when you lack experience at an early age. I think he would struggle to start. A loan to a ball playing Championship team would suit.

To be fair, I think Carson is unlucky that he is behind Reina. He'd get in at least 13 or so other Premier League teams. And being young he's only gonna get better.
As for Guthrie, MOTM performances against Bayern Munich and Manchester United certainly show that he has the talent to make it at Liverpool, but he isn't exactly the flying winger we need, and in his proper position of CM there are currently 4 top class player.
Maybe Paul Anderson will get a chance? He'll probably be best of staying with Swansea if they get promoted though. Not point returning to play about 5 games or so.

I actually think it might be. If he was to be guarenteed that plus bench time (with the new 7 subs rule) then it is likely that that would improve him more in terms of what is needed to play for us at a top team. Additionally if you assume some of those to cup matches early in the season we could keep him until Jan and then look for a loan move if he isn't progressing.

On the other hand if Rafa stays it might be valuable to keep a good reputation with the Swansea manager who is a friend of Rafa's I believe and plays good football as in th elong term they could be a valuable place to loan players if they get established in the Championship.
