    Disagree.

Chelsea, in recent years, have had pretty successful CL campaigns, regardless of the fact that they havent won it.

Getting to the latter stages on a consistent basis is pretty successful.

Not when he has a hopeless record in our bread & butter competition.

You're wrong and you're a grotesquely ugly freak

You can only say you've had true success in a competition once you've won it IMO. Chelsea have been ok in the CL but the term successful means they've accomplished what they set out to do, which of course, they haven't.

5th, 3rd and 3rd. I thought Chelsea had been successful in the CL because they'd reached the last 4?

Thats an equally bad description of the game IMO. They put together some delightful moves but they lacked the cutting edge to finish them on the night and too often failed to take good long range shooting chances. Their decision making in the final third is open for question but they created a number of good opportunites but failed to capitalise.

They also failed to control the flow of the game particularly well which allowed Milan back into it. But Milan were far from being in control themselves with Arsenal having long periods without their defense being stretched or Milan keeping continuous possession in which the should have asserted themselves.

I think hopeless is a bit much mate, but your entitled to your opinion however wide of the mark i feel it is.

I think if we move Rafa along we'll be waiting longer for a league title than if he stays, as we will fall yet further behind in the time it will take for a new boss to rebuild. I can't think of a single club besides Chelsea (and lets be honest, the money made that possible) where a managerial change has brought about instant league success. Only 1 team can win the league each season after all.

                  Agreed.

It's a daft piece of journalism. Arsenal are awesome . All that beautiful football, and winning nothing. Legendary. :whatever:

read this on the toilet today ,the article was shocking
he was trying to convince the reader that somehow arsenals 0-0 against an ageing milan side miles off the summit of serie A was better than liverpools utter dominance of a game in which they hardly had a look in our half never mind had a decent shot on goal, where we had 70 percent posession and WON 2-0.
i was literally ****ting with anger.

well not being a huge poster i do read some stuff that DJS wrote and shake my head. but i do agree with him that in reality getting to the semis and the final of the European cup is successful. its also consistent. yes its not as successful as winning it but it is success.

i think finishing 3rd or 4th in the league (the equivalent of a semi in a cup i suppose) is not necessarily successful. i cant really explain it or put my finger on it. but i think to a certain extent he is right.
