The Kop can sing Hick's Junior a couple of song's, wonder why the visit now, testing the water before old Fatso comes a calling. Still don't know what he meant by saying he would be "More hands On" with LFC.

Liverpool boss Benitez: Hicks very, very supportive
                  tribalfooball.com - February 22, 2008

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has revealed the communications lines with the club's co-owner Tom Hicks have improved in recent weeks.

Benitez said: "Communication has been much better lately.

"We don't e-mail every day but before a game he will send me a positive message encouraging the team.

"He'll also send messages after the game. He's very, very supportive."

Asked whether it was time for fans to stop protesting against Hicks, Benitez added: "I cannot say anything to our fans in terms of what they must or must not do.

"What I can say is that my relationship with him is good."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

sounds like rafa is saying pretty much what he has been told to say in the above piece. interesting what he says about the fans, he didnt exactly say stop protesting either??

am i reading too much into this??
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

Hicks Jr is at the game today, no idea if he's alone or not, but he's definitely coming. Hicks Sr was in Dubai all week.

As far as Rafa's concerned, he and Hicks now both understand what each other wants. It's a professional relationship now and Rafa no longer feels that Hicks is swinging the axe. Rafa's job is safe until Hicks loses control of the club. Hicks might actually not be losing control of the club however. He is hoping to be able to continue in some capacity, but Gillett is trying to get out. There's no major rush financially, but Gillett's hating his name being associated with the protests and bad press. If Hicks can swing it, he'll be staying on. Expect a charm offensive later on in the season.

Rafa's point of view is that Hicks now fully understands why he wanted x amount of money for his squad, and also why it frustrated him so much that he didn't get it. The expectations have now been toned down in keeping with the real levels invested. Both men have learned a lot about each other and have a certain amount of respect for each other now. Rafa says he trusts Hicks. Do you believe him? Would you trust Hicks?

It's probably more down to that Rafa isn't allowed to come out with any negative comments about G&H anymore.

Rafa will be playing his own game i expect, have his own aims, all being in his view in the BEST interest's of Liverpool FC. He can only go on facts he knows, not promises of funds but targets signed, 1st choices too.

He has to keep everyone onside, players, out of form players, owners, future owners, the missus, fan's, can't be easy. I trust his judgment long term. But i think he sometimes has to say's thing's to keep certain people happy, onside.

Rafa will be acting in the best interests of Rafa Benitez. I find it pathetic really that people paint him as a saint in all this. Hicks was the best thing that happened to him otherwise the fans would have wanted Rafa out at xmas.

Turning into a ****ing joke. Now all of a sudden Hicks is great because he sends a few emails...or is it because he won't sack Rafa??
