Not sure if any of you are watching the reserves and our academies. They really are one of the highlights of our very underperforming season so far. We have some real stars in the making such as Emiliano Insua (rest assured he is going nowhere) Plessis, Nemeth, Huth, Ecclestone, Pacheco. People forget what a superb job RAFA has done with our youth and also Gary Ablett. We haven't had so many young players on the verge of bigger and better things since Carragher, Murphy, Gerrard, Owen and Fowler broke through. Anyone seen much of our other teams?

Pacheco is not at the Academy, he is at Melwood with the reserves.Originally posted by TheRedDragon View PostAmoo and Pacheco looks to be the ones from the Academy IMO
In terms of prospects from the academy it would be the atacking players: Pourie, Eccleston, Amoo, Mackay Stevens, Astrit Ajdarevic and Highdale also Kelly looks a decent defender although he graduated the Academy last year.

Totally agree - the future is bright, and it is all down to Rafa. If he is given time to see this through we will be winning many more trophies.Originally posted by gaynerleo View PostNot sure if any of you are watching the reserves and our academies. Man Utd raid Liverpool for top England prospect
tribalfooball.com - February 24, 2008
Manchester United have trumped Liverpool for teenage prospect Scott Wootton.
The People says the England youth international from the Wirral had been with the Anfield club since he was 12, but he and his family were upset when he was offered only a short-term deal to stay.
Wootton turned down the contract and was immediately picked up by United who offered him the chance to be a professional - after just one run-out in the under-18 side last week.
It is a major slap for Rafa Benitez's club and insiders reveal Wootton left because he thought there were too many foreigners at the club's academy and his way would be blocked.
Cant say I ve heard of this guy or read much about him in the reports. Know anything about him Milky?
And the size of his potential was quickly spotted by eager United."I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.
The Future is Red!

I remember feeling quite upbeat about us doing the exact same on one of their star young strikers and thinking that this could be the start of something special..........Originally posted by carlton View PostMan Utd raid Liverpool for top England prospect

We did the same to them also with Danny Guthrie.
At the time he was the under-16 captain for England. He is a massive Man Utd fan but they didn't fancy him to make the break through. These things happen in football.
The main reason is putting them in comparison to other youth team members currently at your club. But many factors effect young footballers, the list of top internationals who were let go early in their career is dazzling.
Nothing to worry about in the grand scheme of things.Forwards.......
