If there was a European break away league...

How well do you think the current Liverpool team would do?

For years there has been talk of the big european teams breaking away and forming a 'Euro Super league', the idea has never become reality but if it had and we were playing in it, I wonder how well Liverpool and Rafa would do?

For the last few seasons we have struggled to make a challenge in the Premier league title race. Where as we excelled in the CL, in both the league format and in the knockout stages. I wonder if the european league would have taken off if we would still be a competitive as we are now in the CL or if we would stutter and struggle like we sometimes do in the PL.

I'm not in favour of it.

I like the way we have our own domestic football.

We would probably do very well in a European league as our game at the moment is pretty successful against other European teams we play against in the champions league.

But it would change football as we know it and although at first it would all be glitzy and glamorous think i would miss the current English format.

I think it is a horrible idea but I think we would probably end up doing very well if it came to pass. I think probably top 4 still but we would have more chance of winning it if Rafa got to play European games every week.

I don't like the concept either but I was just thinking how well we did against the big sides of European football but then how our league form isn't that great. As this type of competition would see us playing the big european teams but in a league format would we be able to win it? It would require us to focus on a league competition over a bigger number of games then the current CL format requires. Is it that Rafa's team is a cup team or the european factor that see's us do better in the CL rather and the EPL?

These players can't lift themselves for the bread and butter - once the glamour ties cease to become special, will they still raise their game?

I blame him equally with the team.they`ve been very lazy this yr.

think we'd do very well.
But as a regualr system, not too keen on it, yes on first blush it seems great, but nothing beats regular domestic competition with a side order of cl footy every so often.

I'm not sure, Rafa is fantastic at two-legged ties, but a euro-league would not incorporate those. You'd have to win lots of one-off games, whether they be home or away and they'd all be worth the same 3 points.

I think its the league structure that we're not good at, rather than it being english teams we're not good at playing.
