Of course he gained an advantage. He was on the deck near the opposition byline but by conceding the free kicks he was able to take up a more efficient defensive position for the ball that was coming towards their goalOriginally posted by RedReet View PostHe didn't gain any advantage though and never would have in that position. It was just frustration losing the ball.

Jeez, now you get all serious!!!Originally posted by Harv View Postnothing to do with bragging.
It's more a mindset thing. I just don't think someone that hasn't played a highly competitive game would have any idea on the thought process that goes through your head as a player in these moments, or whats expected of you from teammates in these moments.
I think different players even pro’s respond differently. You know the ones that would 100% take the yellow. And then there are times as you intimate when you’ve no option. If a players running in on goal and you are 1 nil up with 5 to play then yeah - you take one for the team
…pretty much at any serious level!

Knowingly breaking rules to gain an advantage is the definition of cheating, it’s pretty straightforward.Originally posted by Scratch View PostIt's an offence under the laws of the game, but it certainly isn't cheating. Punishable by a red and a ban, length of which depends on whether it is violent conduct, serious foul play etc. But cheating? Nope.

How's it cheating exactly?Originally posted by ChesterDave View Post10 games for being a ****ing cheat. If he made that foul with a legitimate attempt to win the ball a yellow would be harsh but that wasn't a legitimate attempt. I fed up of commentators, broadcaster, pundits, journalistscand fans justify players cheating.

I think a red and 3 game suspension is more than enough for what Morton did.Originally posted by ChesterDave View Post10 games for being a ****ing cheat. He clipped his heels, he didn’t chop him down.
That’s a yellow for me. Cynical, but not dangerous.
