I thought Owen came across really well. He clearly loves the club and has some regret. Seems mad that we stubbornly wouldn’t pay more than the £8’we received from Real.

Most supporters will never forgive him because of the tribalism that exists, but he’s alright by me.

Staggering that he felt his career was pretty much on the slide by 21.

I would have too TBH. It looked like it was going to get completely out of hand.

And me. I distinctly remember saying to someone at half-time that I'd take 4-0. Feared 6 or 7.

I reckon I was still on Koptalk in 2005.

The match thread would be immaterial, as I drank a **** ton of beer that night and watched it in the pub.

I was pretty zen at HT. And I never rule out a comeback no matter how unlikely. It was the slagging we’d get the next day that was the biggest fear.

                  Same.

In the pub straight after work (finished early to bag a seat).

Bollocksed and highly depressed at half time.

                  Annihilated and elated after penalties.
                  Oh I don't know.

We were ready to leave the ground at HT and drink ourselves stupid in the city but thankfully decided we'd not get back to the airport if we did. Best decision I've ever sort of made

I'm genuinely pleased for you mate. Imagine if you'd missed it

I went and told the missus how pissed off I was at half time and could she do the decent thing to cheer me up.

Thought I'd watch a bit of the second half before going upstairs for conjugals and then we scored. And then we scored again. And again.

She came back down in extra time asking where the **** I'd got to.

                      Not now darling.

Bless her she kindly held on until after penalties and the cup presentation

Even though at 1-3 I thought it wasn't going to get much better and I might as well do the deed whilst the offer was there, I'd changed seats at HT and I didn't dare move just in case . . .

Did the right thing as it turned out

I was in the upper tier right beside the Milan end, surrounded by Milan fans and they were commiserating with us, it was all very cordial. 3 lads behind us left at half time......when Gerrard scored the cordiality went out the window

I still remember everything about that day/night as well as if I was there yesterday.

I was working in Vancouver at the time and watched the match in a sports bar out of town during an extended lunch break with some Canadian colleagues. Got pissed and went back to the office as everyone else was packing up to go home. Sacked it off, got a taxi into town and found a group of mostly Chinese Liverpool fans and drank whiskey for hours. Picked up a prostitute on the way back to my hotel but lost her before getting there. Rounded off the night with a weed pipe out of the hotel window and was violently sick. Don't think I posted here, and hope I didn't really.
