I think a lot of it is mental - the ones who are absolutely driven to succeed no matter what have the very best chance to make it through, all things considered. Trouble is they are asked to do this at the time of their lives when they are least equipped mentally to make that decision, which is why I think so many fall away.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Coaching helps, I think we are set up now under Klopp and team to ensure anyone with enough quality will be given the mental support they need to succeed. The current set up exploits every opportunity to get the maximum advantage.Originally posted by Venton View PostI think a lot of it is mental - the ones who are absolutely driven to succeed no matter what have the very best chance to make it through, all things considered. I think Ibe suffered under Rogers as with many other players.

Also helps to come into a winning team I suppose. Ibe used to come on as a ast resort hoping to get something out of a game, Whereas nowadays we can often bring yoof in with 20 mins left for them with no pressure on.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostCoaching helps, I think we are set up now under Klopp and team to ensure anyone with enough quality will be given the mental support they need to succeed. In what way? Memory is ****, but my half recollection is that Ibe was recalled from a loan and played well (out of position I think) for a few games, including against Everton when he hit the bar. He got injured and that ended his season unfortunately. He was then played loads during pre-season and he was excellent, but just couldn't carry it through to proper first team football.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostCoaching helps, I think we are set up now under Klopp and team to ensure anyone with enough quality will be given the mental support they need to succeed. Where did Rodgers fail him?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Absolutely. I think the one thing Klopp drills in is focus, laser-focus on being the best you can be all the time, concentrating on that. That's why he ****ed Sakho off when he pulled his kecks down and why he was happy to let Coutinho go. That's what the kids need to look up to.Originally posted by Irishnev View PostCoaching helps, I think we are set up now under Klopp and team to ensure anyone with enough quality will be given the mental support they need to succeed. Rodgers played people out of position often - Bobby, Markovic, Can, Ibe (Wing back) which didn’t allow then build up their confidence - oh......I really have no time for Rodgers so I am biasedOriginally posted by RedReet View PostIn what way? Wasn't it John Aldridge who was in the press saying we didn't need Sterling... Because we had Ibe.
I think ibe is a good player. And had big potential. But he sounds like a bit of a ****** and that big contract he got when he moved to Bournemouth obviously went to his head.
I reckon he could end up at Rangers under Gerrard on a free transfer. He'd probably be in the team of the year up in that **** league

won me what was an absolute fortune - I had €20 e/w at about 50/1
Myself and my mate went on an absolute bender with that money - had the horrors for weeks afterwards

I was a student back then and was on this. Was a welcome boost to the beer money fund.
