Marco Grujic’s Porto knocked Simeone’s Atletico out of Europe thanks to a 2-1 home win plus a draw in the other match. So long Diego & his **** team.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I definitely remember at the time them saying that XI had never played together (mostly, I suspect, due to Matip's injuries at the time), which was a shocker itself, but I can't believe they never played together after.

At the time, i dont think gini was first choice. He was 2nd choice for all of the midfield positions (and even played CB) but i think it is fair to say that Henderson and fabinho were at their peak then and Oxlade or Keita were also ahead of him in the pecking order.

Gini didnt even start the 4 nil v barca

He started 32 PL and 11 CL games for us that season The Barca game was the only one he was sub in, I seem to remember being surprised that he didn't start that one

Gini was 1st choice. Ox missed the entirety of that season and Keita only played sporadically.

I think 2 of the biggest contributors to that stat are Matip missing most of 19/20 and Virgil almost the entirety of 20/21, at the end of which Gini left.
