Having said that he is the captain, he should be leading by example and quite frankly this season he hasnt delivered on a regular basis.

don't see anything wrong with what he said there
he's frustrated, just like alot of the fans, that another season in the league has been a disappointment. every time we look like challenging we fall short
but we are still fighting for the champions league, if we crash out of that then we can start talking about the season as a failure
we've only lost 3 times in the league, less than utd, so it seems we are only a few pieces away from really mounting a challenge, but we say that every season....Comment

Yes, I believe a large part of it is down to him. there's no question he has underperformed, but i don't think the blame can be laid solely at his feet. we can't kill teams off, and i don't think gerrard barking orders at a shell shocked kuyt for example would change much. as far as leading by example goes he could do much much better in that department- all that sulking pisses me off after a whileOriginally posted by Assassin View Post

These two are the heartbeat of the team. They may no longer stand out head and shoulders as our two best players anymore because they've been joined by Masher & Torres, but they have been extremely consistent over the last few years. They are local so it hurts all the more and happen to be captain & vice captain at the club, why shouldn't they comment? Perhaps, just perhaps they've had enough of Rafa and his general weirdness.
