We will first be appointing a manager once we have the admin stuff and the fundraising out of the way.

We need 1,000 reds to join up as founder members.

Once the manager is appointed we will then expect players from 3 sources

    a) players the manager has in mind or will attract to the club

    b) trials of those who already have high level experience

    c) open trials for everybody else

When AFC Wimbledon set up they had trials over 3 days at Wimbledon Common.

We'll no doubt be doing something similar.

We'll be announcing trials once we have the other stuff sorted.

So come on Reds. We need just 1,000 of you to create this additional club.

    Come and join at http://www.afcliverpool.org.uk

Our motivations are different to FCUM as we're not setting up in response to TomnGeorge. We'd be doing this even if they'd not been involved.

But yes we're expecting LFC fans to fund it via membership of the club. The club will be wholly owned by those who become members of the club. It will be run as a non profit making coop with all profits ploughed back into the club, and all members with equal voting rights at the clubs AGM.

A *big* trophy? No idea. But our aim is to win the league in our first year. Then do the same the year after.

There's nothing stopping people from supporting both LFC and AFC Liverpool if you can. In fact, we encourage it. That's what we'll all be doing.

Fair enough. But like I say, even in the unlikely event that this will fall on its arse, you'll simply get a refund, so there's no risk here.

I`m not worried about risk,as I say if it`s a goer then i`ll pay up.I don`t see a conflict between supporting both teams.i`m a romantic and hope it gets off the ground.

Can I just ask too. Those who are supportive and who post elsewhere, can you please spread the message about this.

Make it clear that this is aimed primarily at Reds who can't afford to go to Anfield at all or too often but still want to watch in-the-flesh footy with other reds fans, and who want to train their kids about what it is to be a Red at a football match (rather than let Sky and Andy Gray be their educaters!)

Also make it clear that this project would be happening even if the ownership issue wasn't around. It's a reflection of the fact that so many people are priced out. That's not a pop at LFC as we're one of the more sensitive clubs. It's just the way football is these days. As such, this is an idea whose time has come.

Let them know that we are at an advanced stage regarding talks with the North West Counties League, regarding a groundshare, and that we fully expect to be playing as a fully functioning club from this forthcoming season onwards.

We need 1,000 reds to make it viable though. We have worked hard to put everything else in place. It's up to our fellow reds now to make this happen.

            Thats basically the message.

thanks johnny. bear in mind though, that people like your good self who support the project proving it by paying up now rather than later is what will make it a goer.

ultimately we need to go to the league and say "look, we're for real. and here's proof. here's the cash from our supporters. we can fulfill our fixtures."

Thats fair do's mate if you've not got it yet.

For those who have though, please don't sit back and wait. You're our proof to the league and FA that this is the real deal.

I'm thinking along similar grounds, I'll prob put a tenner in now and if it proves to be a goer then I'll happily set up a monthly direct debit

re the groundshare, where will the ground be located? I'm not asking for specifics in case that's sensitive just a rough idea,

on a separate note about 4 weeks ago I said to my g/f that we should start going to watch Marine cos for the 2 of us to go to Anfield, we're knocking on £100 spends with all the extras so this is something that definitely interests me

If anyone knows of any businesses that are likely to want to help us out with sponsorship/donations can you please get in touch - we'll be targetting organisations soon and it'd be great if we could target people straight off the bat who would have an active interest in helping a grassroots, community led team with excellent prospects for social and ethical promotion.

there is absolutely nothing at all that meets the guidelines within the city boundaries. our criteria is something that is easy to get to on public transport from the city centre, and has excellent transport links by car.

so it'll be close by, but not strictly in the city boundaries itself cos the only other ground thats in the city boundaries is goodison!
