I really really really hope we're not involved. However I have so little faith in football nowdays that I wouldn't be surprised.

Neither would I Tom, but of course it would be very easy for an agent to falsely name a manager whilst being secretly filmed - its not exactly a legally binding contract. If someone dodgy was trying to get a player on a clubs books, who would he rather deal with? Steve Coppell or Rafa Benitez? Its easy for a dodgy conversation to crop up and for him to say "Yeah I can get you in touch with Rafa, Jose, Arsene and Jol..."

I've just done a quick google search and can't find anywhere which is speculation on the 'Eight' Managers, but it seems that Collymore doesn't exactly deal at the top end of the footballing pyramid - SFX he certainly ain't. Djemba-Djemba and Derek Asamoah (wasn't he that crap striker who once scored for Wycombe?) are the names which pop up the most.

          Same.

At least the players are unlikely to have signed more than one contract.

            Someone is getting sweaty palms:

            Allardyce upset by bung claims

Bolton boss Sam Allardyce has admitted he has been affected by the investigation into an alleged bung culture in English football.

Allardyce has been linked with the television expose along with several other managers regarding alleged illegal payments.

The Bolton chief is unhappy to be involved in the investigation and is looking to concentrate on his job at hand.

However, Allardyce admits the whole episode has affected him and he is considering legal action if he is accused of any wrongdoing.

"It's affected me, but you have to do your job and carry on," Allardyce told the Mirror.

"It's difficult to say what I make of it because I don't know what's going to come out.

"From a legal point of view it's very difficult to answer questions. I can answer once it's come out.

"Until then you get on with your job."

I'd also say David O'Leary, dependant on the timing of the investigation.

That would explain Seth Johnson for £7m...

In Newall's words you have to wonder when one agent does loads of deals with one club. We bought a number of players through agent Willie McKay during Houllier's time as manager.

Collymore has issued a statement denying he had either offered or accepted an illegal payment.

The statement read: "I refer to the Panorama investigative programme being screened tomorrow, 19th September.

"A third-party introduction led to a meeting with a Mr Knut Auf dem Berge. I became suspicious of his alleged claim to be a front man for an investor.

"In seeking to uncover his true identity and the validity of his claim. I made some wholly untrue statements to determine his real agenda.

"I can categorically state that I have never offered nor accepted a `bung', to or from anyone.''

Having heard some very interesting things about his transfer dealings at Liverpool I would be VERY suprised if Mr Souness is not involved

Yeah - but they all represented great value for money didn't they? Surely nothing dodgy about any of them.

I've always had some kind of irrational belief that Houllier was involved in this type of stuff. I just don't believe he could have been so bad in the transfer market for a couple of years.

The Cisse transfer was being investigated at one stage, now we see Diao involved.
