Liverpool will have to cough up £350,000 to Atletico Madrid if Fernando Torres scores against Newcastle United this weekend.

As part of Torres' big-money move to Liverpool in the summer, it was agreed that Liverpool would pay an extra £350,000 should the striker score 25 goals, says AS.

His hat-trick against West Ham on Wednesday night left the Spaniard on 24 for the season.

I think you're right about it being man City, but I think it was an appearance fee rather than a goalscoring fee - in fact, I think Keegan was in charge of City at the time.
