Believe it or not, in the 3 months or so of this site I think this is pretty much the first outright Owen thread mate. Honestly.

I entirely blame KT's AF - no, not our Anfield Forever, their one.... don't even go there :... both for the tiredness of the topic, and the diametric views amongst most LFC fans on the internet about this.

I wouldnt take Owen back at all. Fat or fit!

Every dog has his day, and MO's was four years ago.

Kuyt (and maybe Bellamy) will be the next great name to be chanted from the Kop.

Yep, and yet he's ended up at trophyless-for-40-years Newcastle

You cant help but laugh at how he's flushed his career down the toilet.

Michael Owen has been very badly advised - should have signed a 12month extension to his Anfield Deal when Rafa came along, instead left for the heights of the Real Madrid bench, and then the mightly European force that is the barcodes.

On his miserable days, he must think how did he manged to ruin his football career...

I never get the vitrol about AF. Maybe i didn't knock around football parts often enough (he never seemed to pop into the CO room). Seemed pleasant enough to me

Anyhow, It's a shame Owen has been dissed so much on this thread. He did a lot for this club. I haven't forgot that.

              Owen's FA Cup

Still don't want him back thank you very muchy!

Because he claims to be able to speak in Elvish, which is a c.unts trick in anyone's book.

And he posts pictures all the ****ing time, especially candles.

And his knowledge of how finance works in football was complete and utter bollocks at best.

Finally, his obsession with Owen was creepy to the point of being ****ing annoying.

Other than that he was a lovely guy.

Rafa got rid of Owen to fund Alonso.
Rafa's team didn't rely on out and out goal scorers

Owen is world class end off.

As for comments re goal droughts, these were often after come backs and who to say Ged didn't rush him back.

As for tactics, didn't realise Owen dictated the style of play.

Owen scores goals and loves to score goals.

One trick pony? mmm scored at Real Madrid in a different style.

I like Bellamy but he'll never ever be as good as Owen.

Owen in Rafa's team today would bag in loads of goals.
He'd have Alosno aswell as Steive supplying.
Plus he'd never seen across till he went to Real.
He'd have players pulling defenders out of position.

                        I'd take him back.

I remember his last season for us and those 9 games runs without scoring a goal came about a bit too often.

A player that scores 20 (not even true) league goals a season isn't automatically worldclass you know.

On a more serious note. He had his time, he was great until his demise started to happen 4 years ago, blame it on what you want, injury, SFX, lost pace, no first touch, Houllier, the fans, horses, gambling..... I really dont care, he would have gone earlier but he strung us along whilst his other half fully recuperated from her riding accident. Rafa came along and done us all favour, end of story, £8 mill for player close to being a free agent was a tremendous result.
