Anderson looks to be a lot better than Lucas. The comment suggesting Lucas is more complete seems utter madness - Anderson is stronger, faster, more aggressive, just as good a passer, more skillful on the ball... and on top of it all, a couple years younger.

Babel and Nani are very different players, but both have looked great and **** in equal measures this season.

Question: How can 40% of respondents think Lucas is better and another 40% prefer Anderson?

What has happened to the remaining 20%?

Is this vote rigged or is there a hidden option to vote for Bruno Cheyrou?

For the record I went for Babel over Nani and Anderson over Lucas for reasons others have already outlined.

in order of preference - babel, anderson, lucas and nani. Really don't know what all the fuss is about lucas, he's fine as a 4th choice midfielder but i'd at best describe him as solid. Nani imo is far too lightweight and will always be outshone by ronaldo.

Lucas has been far more reserved than he was when playing with Gremio. He mentioned in a recent interview that he is being asked to play a different role.

At Gremio he was most definitely the box-box type, now he seems to sit and dictate more than anything else.

i'm not knocking the lad its his first season. but i don't see anything special there yet. today he had several chances to pull the trigger but bottled it.

With the money spent by both clubs I'm far happier with the two we ended up with.

I knew you weren't. Just wanted you to know that he has much more in the locker.

Rafa must have said something to him about shooting 'cos in the his gremio days he needed no excuse. You could see him stop and think today!

From what I have seen so far, Anderson has a better chance to develop into a Gerrard type of player while Lucas is more a Alonso type footballer.

Lucas @ Gremio was a SG type player, so I'd question that.

Lucas is too slow in the EPL to be a box to box player. He also gets knock off the ball easily. Anderson on the other hand has shown glimpses of skills, speed and strength.

It may be too early to judge but indications are Anderson has a better chance to develop into a SG type of player.

I'm not sure that either should aim to be a Gerrard type player. I suspect both would be best served using Keane as a role model (in terms of play rather than temperament). Already both have shown more positional discipline than Gerrard.

I think Lucas's main problem is strength and that is something that can be worked on.

Both utd players came into a very on form team, Our 2 have had a bit more to deal with, but deal with it they have, so far quite well to. I look forward to watching them both develop into well rounded team players.

tough one, all have come on very well this season, Anderson is looking like a real dynamo and Nani has the makings of a new Ronaldo.
But, for us, Babel is looking like a superstar in the making and Lucas is just getting better with every game and is adpating to the league very well.

For me I think Babel will be the best out of them.

Very good thread, actually been some good responses. My tuppence worth is Utd have bought 2 good players, but paid over the odds, Rafa got what he paid for.

Babbel looks as though he has the basic ammo to make the grade, like all Liverpool players he gets 18 months grace from me before he has to start earning his keep. As for young Lucas, he hasn't done anything to impress me, he seems a yard slow both in actual pace and speed of thought, again he gets more time to settle and to start strutting his stuff, he hasn't had much of a real chance to shine so I'll give him a chance.
