    Watching matches in Austin, Texas(!)

I'm flying out to Austin, Texas tomorrow. Is there anyone who's got the slightest idea of where I'll be able to watch the Inter game?

    Cheers,
    Dutte

I thought about that, but I'd rather watch in a pub/sportsbar to be honest

i am sure it will be on ESPN. I was in New York last november and caught the Bolton game in a bar over there. I am sure you will find it somewhere. I have been to alot of places and never had trouble finding the game

How about putting a dog turd in a bag and setting it on fire on his door step?

Didn't watch a match in Austin but it's full of student types and has a million different bars so you won't have any trouble.

Going on past experience I'd say one of the Irish themed places would be your best bet.

Welcome to Austin mate..it is a great city and hope you enjoy your stay here..
There is a pub in downtown called fado irish pub.. They should show it..the website is fadoirishpub.com...

if ur not gonna be there in the downtown area, the game comes on espn..so most bars with TV should screen them...If your in the UT area either Posse East or Double Dave's should screen it...

I'll try, anyone got his adress? Texas is only 3.5 times the size of Great Britain so I might just bump into him.

Yup..I have been here for the last 4 years. The downtown is cool. Lots of nice bars and coffee shops. All the bars are between 4th and 6th Street..However they may not be that crowded now as UT has closed for spring break..
If you have time in the evenings Zilker Park is a nice place to walk in the evenings..it is a 5 minutes drive from downtown..Try watching a movie in the alamo drafthouse..it is a unique movie watching experience - dinner plus movie at the same time...There is one in downtown...Plenty of nice restaurants in downtown especially between 4th and 1 street..Other than downtown, Mozarts coffee shop is a nice place chillout..it is on the banks of Lake Austin...The Oasis ( restaurant on Lake Travis -30 to 40 minutes from downtown) is another nice place to eat and is famous for sunset watching..Are you coming for SXSW by any chance?
