Are we the first team to have beaten them at home for 13 months?

The save from Reina at the end of the first half is one of the best I have seen, just fantastic.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Babel and Lucas both had a bad game. Could be this is the first time both are playing in a big game. Their nervousness and inexperience showed, Lucas especially. He keeps giving the ball away and makes unnecessary fouls.

Skrtel apart from that one mistake which almost led to a goal by Zlatan was solid at the back.

It was a great performance all round - but i did feel like the game completely passed Lucas by. I suppose it was the biggest game in his career so far and you can forgive him some nerves. I dont wish to be pessimistic because i really havent watched him play every single minute so far - but what are his strengths? he doesnt look particulalry quick or outrageously skillful and havent really seen him threaten the goal or break up attacks with any great frequency? AFII - you seem like his biggest fan - whats he gonna give us?

We have just comprehensively beaten over 2 legs the team who, for me, were the favourites to win it.

I see nothing left in this competition to suggest that we cant win this thing again.

Lucas did his job ok, Xabi is clearly miles ahead of him though.

Lucas looks like he is playing within himself. He plays as though he doesnt want to make a mistake. I dont think we will see the bet of him till late next season TBH

I think Lucas has been told by Rafa to play the easy game until he has settled in. Just like Agger and Babel did.

I agree, nothing kills a newcomers confidence faster than doing things the fans don't agree with. At least now he has no expectations to be great and can grow into his role.

good performance all round - what a result, surely we are the strongest team in europe over the last few seasons

Reina was outstanding, properly the calmest person on the pitch - apart from one BAD mistake skrtel was class, Mascherano is just phenomenal. Both Lucas and Babel stuggled, probably down to nerves as it would have been the bigges game of their careers so far.

And as for Torres - well i'd eat his ****
