    Rotation

Is it a coincidence that our recent upturn in form has been a result of Rafa's change of apporach to his usual policy, the reason for us battling on just two fronts could just be an excuse for Rafa realising that chopping and changing is not the way to go in England. In 2005 we were only fighting on two fronts and rotation was still the way to go.

Since xams and up to the Barnsley game we were shocking and I know off the pitch matters were to blame, but we have still been in the news off the pitch recently. Anyway a look at previous results:

6 matches prior to the 2-1 defeat to Barnsley:
    15 Jan, 20:00 Liverpool 5 - 0 Luton Town FA Cup
    21 Jan, 20:00 Liverpool 2 - 2 Aston Villa Premier League
    26 Jan, 15:00 Liverpool 5 - 2 Havant & Waterlooville FA Cup
    30 Jan, 19:45 West Ham 1 - 0 Liverpool Premier League
    2 Feb, 17:15 Liverpool 3 - 0 Sunderland Premier League
    10 Feb, 16:00 Chelsea 0 - 0 Liverpool Premier League

Don't look too bad, but remember Luton was a replay and H&W was piss poor

the last six matches since Barnsley wen rotation was reduced have been:
    19 Feb, 19:45 Liverpool 2 - 0 Internazionale Champions League
    23 Feb, 15:00 Liverpool 3 - 2 Middlesbrough Premier League
    2 Mar, 13:30 Bolton Wanderers 1 - 3 Liverpool Premier League
    5 Mar, 20:00 Liverpool 4 - 0 West Ham Premier League
    8 Mar, 15:00 Liverpool 3 - 0 Newcastle United Premier League
11 Mar, 19:45 Internazionale v Liverpool Champions League

My main question is will Rafa look at the stats from this season, (not just results, but I can't be bothered to do all of that), and change his policy next season?

I know is dificult for players to play in four competitions, but lets face it in the Premiership the team needs stability.

Anyone see Redknapp after the game saying he hopes Rafa stops his continual resting of Torres after this run of form. Although I'm no fan of Souness the pundit you could see in his face he just wanted him to shut his trap.

How many times has Torres actually been rested, 3, 4 times? No more than Rooney and Ronaldo I'd guess. Redknapp = big time muppet.

Don't know but he always maintained he was going to rotate in the main part of the season to allow us to push on at the end.

I'd expect to see much the same next year, hopefully with a bit more quality in reserve so we don't see the dips in performance we've been used to.

Redknapp is indeed a tit. Either he's directed by his employers to make provocative points or he's not paid any attention to this club for months.

If I had to bet on it I'd say it's because he's a bit 'fick'.

              Wouldnt surprise me one bit

All that time in the company/sat on the face of Frank Lampard probably hasn't helped either.

yes saw that this morning, alos on SSN on Friday the Chap from the Dail Express seemed to think Torres had been continuosly rested and if only we'd played him a lot more this season. As you say, he has been rested ahandful of times at most. Wish the press (and pundits) would check these facts.

                  That really grates on me.

From what I can remember Torres was rested against Pompey away after a mid week international match where Torres had to go off with a hip injury, Brum at home and that's about it.

The other games he's missed have been through injury, sure he could have played against Pompey and Birmingham but it hardly constitutes every game we play having no marks like Redknapp and Keys banging on about it.

                      Piss poor isn't it.

I think he was on the bench v Fulham at Anfield too but he came on to score in the last 10 mins so the press could hardly justifiably say he wasn't used well by Rafa there. If one mainstream journo just looked at the facts he could highlight the fact that the rest of them are tits in one article.

I think he was coming back from injury that game as well.

It really winds me up how they get so many things factually wrong every time we play.

Yep, that’s it. Rested TWICE. Ronaldo’s been rested three times by the Mancs but that never gets mention.

Arguably three times as he was sub against Fulham but I'm sure he was coming back from an injury.

Further to Parm’s comments about SSN this morning….that knobhead Paul McCarthy (who appeared to be wearing a toupé ) was lamenting the same thing – “why oh why doesn’t he play every week?”.

The presenter said “Torres has only started 23 of Liverpool’s 29 league games so far”, failing to mention that four of those missed games were through injury. It’s as though they’re deliberately trying to mislead their viewers and perpetuating this absolute bull****.

Without checking, out of 29 games, I believe Fernando has started 23 Pl games, sub in 3 and injured for 3.
