    Sprit Of Shankly. Poll 2.

It’s become ever clearer Mr Hicks’ first, second and third priority with Liverpool FC is to make as much money as possible. Wanting the club to be financially strong isn’t, in itself, a bad thing. It only becomes a bad thing when, as emphasised by his statement last night, the interests of Kop Holdings are specified to be different to that of LFC and its supporters. As we argued last night, it is enough for Kop Holdings to reach a very significant return on its investment by getting the stadium built and keeping the club in fourth place. That isn’t enough for LFC’s supporters.

Given the fact that Mr Hicks will struggle to raise further loans to refinance his existing debts or to expand upon the stadium we have an opportunity to exert financial pressure on him. We can emphasise, to him and to anyone who would loan him further money or anyone who would come on board alongside him to invest in Liverpool Football Club that we will not allow ourselves to be the cash-cow he wants us while he treats us with such disrespect. We can emphasise we are prepared to deny the club money to lower its viability as an investment. We can emphasise that we are more than a brand and that those who love Liverpool the world over love it as something way beyond a sports team and instead see it as something central to their lives and will go to any lengths to protect it as such.

Do we want to continue to call for all Liverpool supporters worldwide to boycott all LFC merchandise, food and drink until Mr Hicks leaves the club?

I can't say yes to this as although it damages Hicks, it could also damage LFC at a time when I think we're very close to achieving a squad capable of winning the Prem.

I have said no because i think this would be very hard to implement, and as BFG says it does damage the club. Unfortunately Kop Holdings performance is directly related to that of the club.

i have said no, purely because i only get over maybe 3-4 times a year. its not easy to get tickets. when i do i want to make the most out of the day. this includes match ticket, programmes, drinks and food in the ground.

its a good idea but unfortunately will be nearly impossible to implement.

LFC is in my soul - and i cant boycott them - it pains me to see a ****** like hicks doing what he is to our club but money talks and there is **** all we can do about it.

now if someone wanted a contribution for his assasination, id be up for that
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

no because real lfc fans unfortunately only amount to a hill of beans when you consider the amount of fans in asia and around the world that wont care who owns us

This is a tough question. It really is. I can see the reasoning behind it. But it just seems like cutting your nose of to spite your face.

              It's a no from me.

Definitely cutting your nose off to spite your face...jesus it would be like refusing to have sex with your girlfriend just because her dad is a **** - any kind of boycott, whilst clearly 'damaging' Hicks (although probably not as much as some people would think) also would have a severe effect on the club, and what true Liverpool fan wants that?!

And what, do people think DIC want to take us over purely out of 'love for the game'?! The only kind of owner who could run the club without too much concern for actually making money is Abramovich, and if anyone wants his sort to take the club over then they can **** off back to dreamland.

No this is naive. The majority of merchandise is bought abroad or on line. Attacking on this axis shows a lack of credibility for actions against the owners. Destroy the commercial base, which this wouldn't, and our club would be put into play again. The consequences of a dliapidated commercail offering would mean that we would fall prey to so called vulture investors.
Actions we take need to damage the owners - not the club as a whole.
