But what's the alternative? Do nothing?

I don't see too much wrong with the stated aims of the SoS:

    CONSTANT AIMS

    * To represent the best interests of our members and by extension the best interests of the supporters of Liverpool Football Club on both the local and international level.
    * To hold whoever owns the football club to account.

    IMMEDIATE AIM

    * To rid the club of Tom Hicks and George Gillett.

    SHORT TERM AIMS

    * To institute a functioning structure for the Sons Of Shankly.
    * To create long lasting relationships with all aspects of Liverpool FC’s supporting community.
    * To improve the quality of service for Liverpool FC's supporters.
    * To improve the standard and value of travel arrangements for Liverpool FC’s supporters.

    MEDIUM TERM AIMS

    * To work with any relevant agencies to improve the area of Anfield.
    * To build links with grassroots supporter groups both home and abroad.

    LONG TERM AIM

    * To bring about supporter representation at board room level.

    ULTIMATE AIM

    * Supporter ownership of Liverpool Football Club.

      Care to enlighten me?
As with most interest groups, I don't think people really get involved because they believe it will achieve a goal. There's a 'look how much I care about LFC' aspect, an 'I'm not just a pleb with no influence, my club needs my special skills to save it' thing going on, and a 'let's go to the pub with some people for a beer' part.

And I don't tend to take to people declaring that they represent my best interests when I don't know them from adam.

People will disagree, that's fine, but I'm a cunt, so there.

So you think that its pointless banding together to acheive a common aim? If you want to take umbridge with SoS I don't care either way but I disagree with your anti union sentiments, especially in this context.

What are we? A collection of individuals who meet up to support and take pleasure in LFC. A union. An ensemble. Whatever. It is relevant. Effectiveness will be judged in time. I am bored by the 'Hicks Out' stuff but your contribution to this thread is pathetic mate.

Isn't it obvious? Unions selfishly set out to fight for the rights of working people to fair pay, safer conditions and job security. Shocking eh?

Come on mate. That was a bit of a ridiculous post. At least SOS are making an effort to do something. Should be credited for that

I suspect credit is why they are doing it.

You mentioned the ignore button, shouldn't you be using yours if this thread or what these people are trying to do, annoys you so much.

2 choices here, sit back at let the club change direction, I dont know if it will be for the better long term or get off our collective arses and voice an opinion.

I may not agree with what they are trying to do, personally I think assasinatation is the only answer but at least they are trying to do something constructive.

I think a lot of people just don't like the opinion they are expressing. For example, boycotting anything will end up hurting us more than Hicks.
