Is it all about perception though? I work in an office full of Man U fans, and they are all convinced that Andy Gray hates them with a passion, and has an anti-man u agenda...anyone ever noticed this themselves? Can't say i have, but then, i don't really notice what he's saying about us, i'm more focused on the match, with the commentary as background noise.

The trouble is all the Sky pundits are cheap, lazy, tabloid loudmouths of journalists who are asked to create controversy in order to generate interest. As such they are bound to wind up most genuine supporters a lot of the time with either their ignorance or deliberate provocativeness.
I agree that complaining in the way talked about is a bit embarrassing in some ways, but in a wider sense the idea of wanting better commentary and journalism seems a reasonable cause. I would imagine that all the smaller teams feel especially cheated by the fact that most of the time the people commentating seem to know absolutely **** all about any of their players or tactics etc and go along with peddling even worse cartoon ideas of them than they do with the likes of ourselves, United, Chelsea and Arsenal."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

fair comment,Originally posted by Matt View PostI don't like Andy Gray but I find this kind of protest a bit embarassing. Does nothing to counter the stereotype that we're a city which revels in feeling sorry for ourselves.

Its the same across all types of media though, i remember on 5live when we were playing Boro and Arsenal were playing Birmingham. We were 1 down and just after half time the tone of the report was how Benitez's job could be on the line if the result stayed as it was and being under pressure, whilst Arsenal had a goal scored against them but there was plenty of time to get the win.Quit your jibber jabber!!!

It depends who it is on 5Live - Green is as bad as anyone on Sky and Stan Collymore is possibly worse.Originally posted by saveferris View PostIts the same across all types of media though, i remember on 5live when we were playing Boro and Arsenal were playing Birmingham. Yep, heard that. I really think people who dont rate Mascher or dont see his value, simply dont understand the modern game, and the sophisticated tactics and methods of play today. It's no coincidence that it's all the old school players, pundits, journos that deride him and how he doesnt offer anything going forward etc. Complete nonsense. For what Mascher actually does, there is no one better in the world, of that i am sure. The man is a lion.Originally posted by Ben Tover View Post'Mascherano isn't worth 18 million'
What a dickhead.
Marcotti slapped him by saying he is one of the best in his position in the world.
I guarantee you that there are at least 5, possibly up to 10 other top clubs who would have been willing to pay £18m for Mascher. Look at what Hargreaves and Carrick have cost, and then tell me they are on a par with Mascher.Last edited by Dhav; 18-03-08, 12:21 AM.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

I totally agree but often the pundits who denigrate Mascherano are the same ones who used to eulogise about Makelele. I just don't understand their indifference towards Masher. It's plain for all to see that he is Makelele's successor as the best holding/screening midfielder in the world. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
