I could see that happening to double up on Ronaldo and not to leave Aurelio too exposed. Riise did play against Ronaldo earlier this season and did a decent job but I think playing Babel from the start might cause them more problems. At times, Benitez is too cautious about the opposition. If we play to our advantages, we can win.

It is interesting, without doubt. Benitez knows the score though, full stop.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

I think it's pointless to put Riise at LM to "stop" Ronaldo. He might stop Ronaldo but he also stops our own left flank. If I were Fergie and I saw Aurelio/Riise on the left, I'd just switch Ronaldo to the left after 15 minutes.

Expect to see Ronaldo give an Oscar winning performance every time Mascher goes near him.

Maybe but would Fergie like to see Giggs play on the right? That just narrows the pitch and plays in Liverpool's hands.
