Would you go so far as to say that along with Agger and Skrtel we have now found our centre and left backs for the next ten years?

That's it in a nutshell. He is lacking hugely in his defensive capabilities and though he has a decent left foot on him, offers little going forward either in reality. He is not a free kick specialist and has scored only once from open play.

Don't rate him at all. Squad player at best.

Aurelio and Insua as our left fullbacks next season.

Insua would then be eased in, in the same way as Agger and Lucas.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'm going to reserve judgement on Aurelio now.

If he is over his injuries he could yet become a good player for us. Any more injuries though and it's time to get rid. I think combined Riise and Aurelio would be a world class left back, but neither appear good enough at present.

Should Aurelio get a good run of games maybe I'll change my mind.

One thing for certain is that I don't want us wasting money on a LB. As Frank the Tank pointed out we have more than enough cover, and one for the future in Insua.

More important positions to replace for me.
            Forwards.......

With the arrival of Skrtel for centre Agger could be deployed left which IMHO he would be good at. Both Aurelio and Insua are great coming forward (Insua more so I think) but lack a certain something defensively. If both (A and I) can improve defensively then we could have a very good back line with players who can interchange positionally as and when needed.

I agree Agger might have been a decent option for the LB spot if he was fit now.

A back 4 of Carra Skrtel Hyypia Agger would be almost inpenitrable!.......if a little lacking going forward.

                    Or:

                    Arbeloa Skrtel Carra Agger

Nice balance of defence and attacking skills.

"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

I reckon if he lasts six games in a row without getting injured he will have cracked it.

I don't know. He missed two before Inter, didn't he? Not sure if he was injured or rested. Pretty sure his record with us is only abour four or five.
