On a more positive note ...

The scum still have to win the league 3 times before beating our record.

If that's some sort of consolation for you ...

In the following three years, I expect Rafa to get it right and win us No. 19.

He will. We've improved but probably the other teams too, that's why it feels we're still a long way (points wise). But before the game we were talking about us getting closer to them if we'd won. These are fine margins IMO. We rightly got beat yesterday. But we deserved at least a draw if not a win at Anfield. So we couldn't be that far anyway.

I don't judge us by looking at the points difference. It's too simplistic IMO. We've got some fantastic teams ahead of us in this league, making it even more difficult to win it.

I agree we have progressed but i dont think the Hicks/Rafa ego contest is over, Hicks only needs to keep pushing Rafa's buttons and he will walk, despite the sending off yesterday also Rafa was tactically beaten by Ferguson again, they scored twice from crosses, once from a corner, they often do against us if you look back.
Also Ferguson recognised the lack of width in our system and stretched us left and right, how often were our fullbacks out of position? All the time.
Rafa is good tactically but not the best unfortunately.

Finally a post thay tells it how it is. We have improved but obviously not to the level most on here would want. Ok - we've dropped some stupid points to lesser teams but look at the facts when we've faced the so called big guns. Chelsea home 1-1 when we were clearly the best team (robbed), Arsenal home 1-1 again a match we should have won, Scum home 0-1 a game in which we more than held our own and should have come away with all three, Chelsea away 0-0, Scum away 0-3 (we all know why). Now you tell me these teams based on these results are miles ahead of us? We know were we ****ed up and that is the real difference, the Arsenals (ok not recently), Chelsea and scum dispatch teams like that even when not playing well but somehow we make it hard for ourselves or the other teams set out to defend, you be the judge. The build up to yesterday was all positive and if the result had swung the other way what would everyone be thinking then? I still think if we had of got something out of yesterday we would only be papering over the cracks as it was the middle of the campaign we self destructed not just because we got beat 3-0 yesterday or the 0-1 loss at home. Consistency and one more top striker and we won't be very far off. Everyone takes to much notice of the media and there's a lot on here that do when they say we aren't as good as Chelsea, scum and Arsenal that's just what there like so **** em.
If I had two lives...I'd give them both to you.
