the goal was skrtel's fault who didn't jump and gifted brown a free header.
the 2nd goal was alonso's who didn't pick up ronaldo next to him and gifted him a free header.
          why blame reina?
did he look shakey - yes.
but he saved us from a hiding with several key saves...

Meh. I thought Wes Brown was jumping all over him so that he couldn't jump.

just looks like that. brown jumped and he didn'T that's why he was all over him. a bad mistake by the new boy.

To be honest I think a combination of things were at fault but if a keeper comes to punch something it becomes his responsibility. I think the problem is that we have been changing our backline too much this season (although a large part has been through necessity) and as a consequence or set piece defense has been poor. This in turn means that Reina has to make decisions with doubt about those around him in his mind. I really think the relationship between keeper and centrehalf is the key reason for the goal and the only way to improve that is to keep playing a consistent team.

I thought it was his arm which directed the ball into the net. Am I the only one to have seen that ? Have looked at it again and again and seen the same thing.

The ball hit his back/shoulder and went in, i too thought he was climbing all over skrtl, is suppose he not jumping made it look worse, why didn't he jump? did he get a call from Reina?
                      We come not to play.

Whilst doing my coaching badge, I had the opportunity to work with my 'teacher' and his pupils and learn about goalkeeping. He said this:
'When a goalkeeper decides to claim for a ball:
                        a) he must shout as loud as possible giving enough time for defenders to get into set positions.
                        b) the goalkeeper must be catching the ball at your highest peak. Anything dropping and you are asking for trouble
                        c) at least one player should be on the line in case the goalkeeper does not fail to get the ball. This should be one of the centre backs i.e Skrtel
                        d) if you are having to go through defenders, don't take the risk. If there is an empty net, the striker just has to get it on target and its in.

Now, if 11,12 year olds are being taught this, surely Reina and the defenders should be doing this instinctively.

He shouldn't have come and when he did he should charged through and knocked everyone and the ball out the ****.He had a strange day but he's still top drawer.Shame it has happened against the Blue****e last season and now the scum too. He'll make up for it next week.
