    Will Carra play next year?

Shrek made him look pretty one dimensional the other day and even sat him on his arse at one point. He has noticeably got worse this season. A new RB + Skrtel and Agger from the off next season?

Of course he will. What else is he supposed to do?

imo skertl ain't all that or at the very least he still has everything to prove. and i'd much rather not spend a single penny on another cb in the transfer window. carra and agger for me every league game next season.

I think Rafa has already showed this season that he prefers Skrtel before Carra in the middle of the defense.

He played Carra on the right a few times with Hyypia and Skrtel in the middle even that Arbeloa was fit.

So if Agger is fit next season and we buy a new right fullback then it will probably be a lot more bench time for Carra.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

i don't think he preferred skertl, rather that he didn't have anyone stronger than carra to play fullback in them games. do you really think skertl has shown he has what it takes to force himself infront of a fit agger and carra?

Well, Skrtel has been better than Carra the last month. I don't know if it's because Carra isn't 100% or not, time will tell on that one, but if Carra don't improve then Skrtel should play in the middle and Agger is our best defender.

Carragher has had a relatively poor season, especially in contrast to his form over the previous three. Over the last four months at the back we have looked occasionally disjointed in open play and a mess from set pieces. Carragher has a share of the responsibility for this but he has hardly been alone.

We have also suffered from a lack of cohesion at the back and the fact that Riise, Agger and Finnan have played far less than you would expect have had an effect, as has the decreasing onus on having two well drilled banks of four. I think this has allowed intelligent strikers more space in front of the back four and has occasionally highlighted his lack of speed over short distances. It is also something teams will have noticed.

The central defensive partnership for next season will be interesting because on current form Carragher is not an automatic choice; if Agger is fit. However Carragher is both brutally honest and determined and there is no way he will be unaware that his form has given rise to this kind of speculation. One thing we have learned is that whenever he has been questioned in the past he has come back stronger and I do nt see this changing over the coming months.

Personally I think a challenge for his place can only help Carragher and the team.

I'm affraid i've got to agree with you on this one however, i still think Carra is still nursing that Rib injury he picked up a while back but, one things for sure, Cara WILL bounce back in form i'm sure of that

Carragher will be back and raring to go next season.
There'll be no-one more determined than him to get this Liverpool side going.

I'm not sure if Carra has been nursing the injury as much as he came back too quickly. I'm sure he is medically okay but an injury like that is sure to knock anybody for six. He may have needed a week or two longer than he got. Unfortunately, we were short in defence already at that time.

A nice long summer and full pre-season will see him right. There's plently of life in Carra yet.
It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Likely still be here. I sort of regret buying his book and getting his name on the back of the home top. His lack of leadership and the way he goes missing against United mainly is really, really getting on my tits.

I was more saying Gerrard will be as up for it as Carra, not questioning whether or not he will still be at Anfield!

Gerrard had a couple of chances Sunday to, had they gone we would have been talking about how great he was.

Fine margins in football games. Don't know what you expected of him whilst we were down to 10 men? For the other half hour he was staying up top like was expected, but ended up being just as isolated as Torres, instead of being a link between Torres and Midfield.

And I seriously doubt you are more gutted than Stevie himself for his overall performance.

I think benitez has used carra at right back against the stronger teams with height up front and on the wings. I think Carragher hasnt had the best of seasons but his recent standards have been astronomical, he has still played brilliantly at times - especially in europe - hes a absolute rock, a leader, an organiser and an inspiration and currently there is absoluetly no way that id have skrtel over him.

The czech has a serious amount of work to do to prove to me that he is anywhere near as good as carra and agger. I think people are massively over hyping him - although as ive said before he looks to have the raw materials to make a top defender.....

Carra is in the home stretch of his career and his lack of pace is becoming more and more evident but he's still got a couple of years left in him but agger and skrtel will become the preferred pairing. Skrtel has only played 11 games or so and will become very good player for us.
