    Riise to consider Reds future

    Riise to consider Reds future
by Chris Stanton, 25 March 2008
    (Setanta Sports)

John Arne Riise admits he is unhappy at Liverpool and may wish to leave the club in the summer.

The Norway international has not been picked as often as he would have liked by Rafa Benitez this term and having been a regular since joining the club in 2001, his diminished status does not sit well with the 27-year-old.
Should the situation remain the same at the end of the season than Riise may seek a move away from the club.

Aston Villa have long been mooted admirers of the left-sided player.

Riise, who is currently on international duty, told the Norwegian media: "I am not happy with the situation.

“I am used to playing in 80 per cent of all the games, but if I don't get to play as much as I want to I have to make a choice this summer as to whether I should stay or not.

"I just have to wait and see what will happen.

"Maybe he [Benitez] will offer me a new contract, maybe not. It's frustrating not knowing if you are going to play the next game or not."

Worrying times for Ginger. I'll be sad to see him go which i think will happen.

I know he gets a lot of stick Riise, but he's been a great servant to the club over the last 6-7 years and has been part of a superb defence too.

Will be sad to see him leave

Unfortunately he is mediocre to awful at basically everything bar shooting. And he's not been particularly good at that this season so I'd cash in while we can still make something on him.

No loss. Swapped shirts with Rooney at the end of the game Sunday.
Which Liverpool player would honestly want a manc jersey?
Oh the man is a midfield maestro
and his passes are sooo delightful

gerrards got a rooney shirt if i remember correctly

i know he's not very good but i'll miss riise, he loves the clubs and the fans and has always given his best. he's just such a limited player. scored some fantastic goals in his time here, i love the one he scored against everton in his first season i believe it was. running from midfield, turning defenders inside out and lashing the shot into the bottom corner at woodison

he just stopped improving a couple seasons ago, i can't believe he's still only 27!

Says the man who posted a video of himself dancing with another man.
My point is that Liverpool's current players are too pally with the enemy.
Maybe you think differently. No wonder they keep beating us lately.

                  Time for bed.

You're not far wrong there, too many of them show the United players too much respect and actually look fearful and lacking in belief when they play them. In saying that i don't think JAR looking Rooney's jersey is a big, especially as JAR wasn't even playing but everyone has an opinion

....still think the criticism he gets is unwarranted, i like John. money needs spending elsewhere anyway.

might have something to do with them having a better team and a great manager

Gerrard's got Rooney's England shirt, if i remember correctly he said he wouldn't have a Manc shirt in his house

Anyway if Riise goes it's no huge loss, he is neither defender or midfielder really and thus makes too many mistakes in both positions, he no longer has that powerful running to join in attacks either and his goals have dried up.

Plus i think the writings on the wall for him anyway, his house was for sale, i wonder whether it sold?
