    What if...

We met Man U in the CL final? Would will still make a decent game of it even with the consensus that they are quite a bit further ahead of us? Would we raise our game sufficiently?

Hard to know which LFC would show up. We lack confidence against them in the league but we might have the upperhand in the CL due to our exploits under Rafa. Personally I'd rather avoid them. I'd rather meet Barca.
    Dare we believe

I said previously, the only two teams I feel that can beat us in this season's Champions League are Arsenal and Man U. I would have rather played any of the others than those two.

Personally, I believe our first eleven when fit is a match for any team on its day. United appear to have a psychological advantage; however, the Champions' league may rebalance that advantage and we would stand a great chance of winning. We have more recent experience of big cup finals and that also would be to our advantage.

Although it would probably be the most excruciating experience to watch for fear of them winning. It took me ten years to get over ‘96.

It's impossible we're as far away as certain are making us believe to get beat 8 times in a row.

Firstly i'm unsure we'll get past Arsenal nevermind thinking about a final vs the Mancs, but IF we were to get there I really do think the boys will come good, their extra experience of finals would help and i have a feeling El Jefecito would have quite the part.

But maybe i'm dreaming, as Rafa says one game at a time.

                  We've already lost then.

At least there would be an unbiased ref!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!

we hope, i'd settle for a Liverpool biased ref though

The scenario would be UEFA's worst scenario too, arch rivals meeting in Moscow , from what i understand it's going to be VERY expensive to get there, hotels are in the £00/000's already, you need a visa to get there, it's going to be a pain, and to lose would make it even worse!

A loss to Utd in the (CL) European Cup final would be the ultimate disaster.

I don't want to see Utd in the final - they're the one team I don't think we could beat on a one-off at the moment. Barca/Chelsea/Arsenal, yes, Utd...

Just a point on Moscow, Imy is right, I have a mate who's girlfriend works out in Moscow and its a total pain to get out there; visas are a problem - they're fairly complicated, and expensive and take time to sort out. Then these is the cost of going out there; Moscow is now considered the most expensive city in the world, its very very pricey. Finally, corruption in the police force is fairly wide spread, and English speaking foreigners have been known to get into considerable trouble with the "law"

As for a Liverpool v United final; you'd have to say United are the favourites but that might just play into our hands. It would be tough, but not impossible!
