No chance ? If I was a gambler I'd bet.

Spot on, no way I could see barca going for a manager that essentially plays defensively controlling football as to the normal barca style of attacking and controlling...

If they take on a new manager in the summer, it will be one that plays a different style than Benitez IMO...

The general opinion of him in Spain is based on his Valencia team remember, not his reconstruction of Liverpool. Valencia played excellent flowing football.

Still waiting for that to happen.

Then again the Spanish league is completely different and Rafa doesn't have the players yet.

the quality of our team is just not ready for that flowing football, at Barca he'd have the personnel and with Rafa's eye for detail i think they could become a very disciplined entertaining team.

He has a good repuation in spain no doubt there, but hardly as an attacking style manager, or a dominating style manager. Even at Valencia, he played controlling football from the defence not the other way around. They played some good football, but it was mainly based on counter-attacking and a well disciplined team. Barca however are based on dominating games with attacking players, so I can't see them being that interested in Raffa, unless they wan't to change style of play...

It would scupper his chances of being manager of Real Madrid, something unfortunately I think Rafa has his heart set on.

                            good point
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

potentially this could happen, who know's what will will happen if/when/once DIC take control, maybe they want Rafa or they have ideas to get someone else in.

I agree that he may not be as attack minded as Rijkaard, but neither is Maureen. But with such talent and money at their disposal, I'm sure whoever gets the job will build a strong team.

I can't really comment on whether they were out right offensive or counter attacking as it's a long while ago now and I didn't pay too much attention at the time.

That said they ripped us a new a-hole when they played us and were very much on the front foot throughout.
