In a way GG said Hicks threatened to break off talks with DIC, meaning he couldn't. Then later talks about "DIC would of been good owners" so If DIC are not on the scene which I doubt but just saying they were`nt does this mean GG stopped talks with DIC?

It was a good interview though and to hear it from his side of the story was very interesting.
I feel he feels really let down by Tom Hicks and he comes across as if he genuinley wanted to succeed with taking over the club.
It's going to be hard for him to try and get the backing of the fans still though but there's not a hope in hell of him selling to Hicks. I still believe something's going to come of this soon and this whole shambles will be at an end.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

LIVERPOOL, England – George Gillett Jr. says his partnership with Tom Hicks, his co-owner at Liverpool, has become untenable and that his family received death threats from fans.Originally posted by Lecter View PostBBC North West TV news said the Hicks family had declined to comment at this moment
Gillett said in an interview with Canada's Prime Time Radio that he was warned not to sell any of his 50 percent stake to Hicks after the owner of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Stars blocked a takeover bid for the Premier League club by a Dubai consortium – a move that has damaged the pair's relationship.
Gillett, who also owns the NHL's Montreal Canadiens, said he is mulling a move for overall control of the record 18-time English champions after Hicks also hesitated on an offer to buy out his partner.
"Liverpool has four big games the next week and a half, Everton on Sunday and Arsenal three times in a week," Hicks wrote in an e-mail to The Dallas Morning News. "I will not comment on George because we need all of the focus on the team and these critical matches."
Hicks consistently has ruled out selling his share in the club.
The pair have faced demonstrations by fans at Anfield after a rift with manager Rafa Benitez last year, but Gillett seemingly repaired his relationship with the popular Spanish coach – leaving fans unhappy at Hicks' resistance to the Dubai bid.
"This partnership has been unworkable for some time," Gillett said in the interview. "We gave our partner a long period of time to try to make arrangements to buy us out. We didn't put pressure on him, but he ultimately did not get to the finishing line."

as much as i hate the thought of hicks buying our club outright, the thought of gillette buying seems just as bad. this is the cunt who never had enough money to buy us in the 1st place and the one who has sat back and said nothing for months letting hicks take all the abuse. i pray that both these morons leave our club.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

Would you rather he never sat back and talked **** like Hicks has done over the past few months and caused no end of stress?!Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Postas much as i hate the thought of hicks buying our club outright, the thought of gillette buying seems just as bad. this is the cunt who never had enough money to buy us in the 1st place and the one who has sat back and said nothing for months letting hicks take all the abuse. i pray that both these morons leave our club.
None of us have enough money to buy the club but would that ever stop us from trying to buy it? Personally, if I could find a way of raising the money I too would want to buy LFC, even though I have no money myself
I'm not pro-Gillett or owt but I hate Hicks. He's a dick of the highest order who has over the past few months done a dirty tricks campaign to make GG look the culprit. How do I know this...because Hicks is a compulsive liar

from rawk
If this has already been mentioned then apologies, but here's the latest information that I have.
1. Hicks DOES have a margin call on his loans. However, he sees LFC as an undervalued trophy brand with which to use as collateral. In other words he's trying his darndest to resist selling LFC and is hanging on like grim death.
2. JP Morgan, DIC and Gillett are in close contact ... and are confident that Hicks will be forced out.
Now, for my 2-penneth worth ... I think Hicks has now been completely exposed. Gillett's interview is withering in that he's basically said Hicks is all mouth and no trousers. With this highly strategic interview, he has made it very difficult for Hicks to stay, and my own opinion is that Gillett and DIC were canny enough to know that Hicks would never be able to buy him out in the first place when the deal was on the table. And that's why he was so patient about the whole thing. Obviously as the fans made their feelings known and the time ran out, then that option became untenable.
The veto was "threatened" by Hicks but GG's tone was pretty dismissive of it. Most sane people don't want to spend their time and money in court and that's probably why DIC haven't bought yet from Hicks. However, there's a further point. DIC goaded Hicks, in my opinion quite deliberately, while knowing about the margin call. What I'm saying is that I don't believe the 49% offer was ever a goer. I think it's been done to put Hicks in a very weak position if it did have to go to court.
Gillett's language speaks highly of DIC ... again it's legal posturing - Hicks has no sound reason to reject them as partners and that's how GG is squaring up to this. Dubai has the track record in sports and the money to repeat it here.
So with weeks of highly strategic maneuverings no court would prevent Gillett selling to DIC, particularly when (a) Hicks had a long window of opportunity to buy out Gillett and (b) Gillett has been receiving death-threats if he sells to Hicks, who has been exposed as reckless, dishonest and unworthy.
Finally, the last thing that Gillett said is that he'd do what was necessary "We're going to try everything we can to provide that (ie make things better for the fans) IN WHATEVER ROLE WE PLAY".
This is the bit that really stands out for me. That role he and his family will play is probably going to be that of chief executioner to Hicks - that's my interpretation of what he's said. Sure, he may buy Hicks out as a temporary measure, but he's been very candid here. He's said it's a balls up and that DIC would be very responsible owners.
Now he's piling on all the pressure on Hicks whilst shutting the door on any options Hicks has left. Because when DIC own 50% of the club, Hicks will be forced out when the club refuses (by Board approval) to pay his interest chargesYNWA!!!!

i prob never worded my last post well. what i was trying to say was, I HATE HICKS, the man is a dick. but IMO GG is just as much to blame for all the **** that has gone on but has taken alot less flack than hicks. IMO he is a sly cunt and i couldn't bare it if he took sole control of our club.Originally posted by Sarb24 View PostWould you rather he never sat back and talked **** like Hicks has done over the past few months and caused no end of stress?!

The part about not having enough money, i was trying to say that if GG didnt have the funds to purchase us last year alone then there is no way he could afford us now. he would need more bank loans to complete any deal and even more loans to bankroll the summer signings we badly need.People who think there's no good way to die have obviously never heard the phrase 'Drug-fuelled-sex-heart-attack'.

gillett has not got the money to buy us out right as well as maintaining us on a yearly basis, neither would he get a loan on top of the loans he already has out.Originally posted by the rev leeroy brown View Posti prob never worded my last post well. what i was trying to say was, I HATE HICKS, the man is a dick. but IMO GG is just as much to blame for all the **** that has gone on but has taken alot less flack than hicks. Well, i don't know what to think, GG was for a time along with TH playing Hardball, & living in "DREAMLAND" according to DIC. He came out of dreamland yes we know now, but still, I just can't trust yet.Originally posted by Rafa Shankly View Postgillett has not got the money to buy us out right as well as maintaining us on a yearly basis, neither would he get a loan on top of the loans he already has out.
