Arbeloa blasts Man Utd, Chelsea refs pressure

Liverpool's Arbeloa blasts Man Utd, Chelsea refs pressure
    tribalfooball.com - March 28, 2008

Liverpool fullback Alvaro Arbeloa has slammed the treatment of referees by Manchester United and Chelsea.

Arbeloa said: "Ferguson has a lot of experience. He's been doing the same thing for many years. When Ferguson speaks people tend to listen. So many times of course this affects the referee.

"The problem is Manchester United's players, and also Chelsea players, put enormous pressure on the referees.

"But we at Liverpool are not doing that and still seem to lose out.

"Whereas, every time there is a foul, they go two or three of them together to complain to the referee.

"We don't do that and, at times, this ends up being very important in the result."

Reflecting on their defeat at Manchester United - and Javier Mascherano's dismissal - Arbeloa insisted: "The truth is, you're left with a very bad taste in the mouth when you play such a big derby and the ref is like that.

"In England, they never give you a yellow card in the first five minutes for what Mascherano did.

"United's players were making similar challenges and the ref didn't react in the same way. He left them unpunished.

"Fernando Torres suffered a lot at the hands of Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic and that is precisely why he complained and ended up being booked before Mascherano got sent off.

"The ref made a mistake but now we can't do anything."

Arbeloa added: "I can't believe that they could ban Mascherano for three games. Are you kidding?"
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

****ing right. If only he said this before the game but Rafa might have censored the squad.

Well, it pays off if you moan in the media. Fergie and Wenger are two good examples of that.

Moan and you will be rewarded by the refs. Act like an angel and you will get nothing.

yup, Fergie had the bollocks to have a go at Rafa for agreeing with him about protecting skillful players and refs doing something about it

Well, you need to cheat to win. Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal has done that for ages now.

It's just the way it's, you just have to live with it. I don't like it but that's life.

I like Arbeloa. No bull**** from him either.

What Mascherano did was stupid, he should have kept his mouth shut and he did deserve a yellow for his first challenge but half of them Utd knobends should have been yellow carded too. Torres was booted all over the place, we should have toughened up against them. Torres was the only one who seemed to battle back.

It's really pissed Arbeloa off, glad he spoke out against Alex Ferguson too. More players should speak out against him he's a nob. I've watched a few interviews with him lately and he's such an arrogant prick.....****** ****ing standing there with his stupid black coat on, ****ing sweaty manc cunt. Him and all the gob****es that sit with him bunch of bum boys clapping in unison. I hope all your hands burn off.

Man I hate Utd ****ing prawn sandwich brigade cocksucking ****ing mugs!!!

I ****ing hate Utd, I hate them even more than usual after that defeat last week. That's the last time they'll inflict a heavy defeat on us. I'm going to start going all out with abuse against them like I used to when I was younger. I've shown them too much respect over the last few years and it's backfired on me.

Not anymore. From next year onwards these knobheads are going to kop it like they used to.

                        Dicks.

                        Long live Alvaro Arbeloa!
