Liverpool - Arsenal 1980

Just fell over a small piece about the last time arsenal and liverpool meet 3 times within a week, which was back in 1980 under the leadership of the great Paisley. It even extended in to 5 matches in 19 days due to rematches in the fa cup... Unfortunatly we lost out on the fa cup, but however did win the league that year...

12.04.1980: Liverpool 0 - 0 Arsenal (Hillsborough) FA Cup semifinale

16.04.1980: Liverpool 1 - 1 Arsenal (Villa Park) FA Cup semifinal rematch

19.04.1980: Liverpool 1 - 1 Arsenal (Anfield) 1st Division

28.04.1980: Liverpool 1 - 1 Arsenal (Villa Park) FA Cup semifinale 2nd rematch

01.05.1980: Liverpool 0 - 1 Arsenal (Highfield Road) FA Cup semifinale 3rd rematch

Anywho, not much relevance today, just thought it was fun seeing the numbers...

I always used to wonder why we only won the double once but stuff like this is definitely part of the reason.
