when you need someone to chase the opposition and pressure them like we needed against Arse crouch is defo not a good choice

i think he's off in the summer, he needs regular football, it's not going to happen at Liverpool. It's a shame, i've always liked Crouch, but that's football

Just a quick note about the goal we conceded, obviously Hyypia's fault for not looking after his zone but Skrtel was also at fault, why the feck did he move forward and Hyypia move back thus allowing Adebayor to move ad header in that huge gap.
      We come not to play.

babel is losing his way big time, he simply doesn't have the belief in his own abilities nor the fitness required.

aurelio is a good left back, we should concentrate on buying a right-back instead.
his touch lets him down too many times, he squanders so many good positions

babel has hit the wall in his first season i think, he should get some confidence from the remaining games in the league going into next season

aurelio is indeed good, some of the criticism he has gotten on this board is beyond ridiculous

Tonight was a real eye opener for me. I'd being going along with the received wisdon, but he is bloody good. Let's hope he can get an extended run in the team, if he can then I'm not worried about LB, especially with Insua playing as well as he is in the reserves.

We can then concentrate on RW and backup for Torres.

i hope he isn't injured, he looked as if he took a bad fall at the end of the match and damaged an ankle

unrelated and perhaps uninteresting but i've met aurelio, he is a really nice guy, very shy and soft spoken, but very polite and intelligent. i'm really happy for him that he's doing well now, he was anxious to make a good impression for the fans

I hope he is OK as well, I'm worried that he was carrying an injury as Rafa rested him against Everton.

BTW I'm not suprised that he is a nice guy, in all his interviews he's come across like that. Where did you meet him. OIA?

he was at the club shop in williamson square over christmas picking up a few things for some relatives. only a couple people recognized him and came for autographs. i'm not really into autographs and i speak a minimal but passable amount of Portuguese so we had a mixed conversation, his eyes lit up when i said hello in portuguese. he was really nice to everyone that approached, though he is much smaller than i thought he would be

This ****e really bores me - Sami ****ed up, nothing to do with the system. Youre right don't listen to Gray, he loves harping on about it. Along with Drogba being theatrical, amongst other things..

We did well enuf. And that is good enuf!

Did anyone watch the game in Aus on SBS? What a complete ****head Fozzie is. You think Andy Gray is bad. You have to listen to this cunt. The most anti-liverpool bloke on the planet. Cannot give credit to us for anything. It was obvious that our game plan was to sit back and defend after our equalizer. Not to Fozzie it wasn't though. Tosser.

On that note playing with Torres as a lone striker may be ok for a defensive outing away. But at home I believe we need a different strategy. We rode our luck a little this game. They could have easily scored another 1 or 2 goals with the amount of possession we were allowing them. Torres on his own against quick quality defence will not equal goals. Defenders will suss him out eventually. Gallas owned him for much of the game I thought. And the mid 3 werent driving high enough to support him.

This weekend I would love to see Benitez field a chopped and changed side. Play Riise, Arbeloa, Crouchie, Pennant. Rest some of our key players and try to hack the **** out of the Arse. They don't have alot of depth and should field a mainly unchanged side. We need to tire them out. We should look at it that we are in an advantageous position being that we really are out of the Premiership race and the Arse aren't. If I were Rafa I would gamble this game and be willing to throw it away for the good of the Champions League. Wenger won't be willing to do that, he is too arrogant. We are in with a good shout to make the semis. Lets not waste it!

When we have the return leg at Anfield. I would love to see Torres partnered with either Babel, Kuyt or Crouch. And then just a 4 man midfield with Yossi on the left and maybe even Pennant on the right. Hey the lad has pace, and he is a decent player I reckon. Torres needs more support. And Stevie can't always give it to him. Alot is expected of Gerrard. He can't do it all. Sometimes I reckon he's better off in a slightly deeper role. Then POW - he bombs off a 40yard power strike into the top left hand corner and we are through!
                        Me Scuzi!

All this talk about a great performance is wrong in my opinion we got our away goal and clung on for dear life. Arsenal will be disappointed by the result but will also be confident about getting at least a 1-1 draw at Anfield.

1-1 away in europe is a decent result but by the response on here I would think we had won 2-0.

I am by no means a pessimist but I think people are getting a bit ahead of themselves. I believe this result puts us in a very difficult position, if we had been playing a foreign team I would be more optimistic but I think Arsenal will come to Anfield confident of getting the away goal to cancel out ours and that they will get another one.

I am pleased with the result but to say we were fantastic is deluded in my opinion, which is backed up by the match statistics. I do not think we managed to stamp any authority on the game and were more reliant on them wasting chances than anything else.
Mate, completely understand what you're saying, and I dont particularly disagree. I think it's in the balance but we have given ourselves a great chance.

On the performance, it was dogged and resolute without being dynamic or outstanding, except in the first half when after our goal I thought we looked good. Worryingly, we looked really tired in the second half.

But on the point of Arsenal's confidence, did you see the desperation in Wenger's face in the last few mins as he was calling his players to get in the box? It was an admission on his behalf that 1-1 is a bad resultand may not be enough for them. Arsenal have ceded the psychological advantage.

i honestly thought rafa should have took alosno off and replaced him with crouch, and switched gerrard and crouch and went 442 we were geting over run in midfield in the last 25 minutes.we couldnt keep the ball up front and crouch would have took the pressure of the back 4! and where in gods name did vorinin come from ? he was just terrible! sorry, rant over!!!!!!!!

thats not the first time Bendtner has got in the way of a goal bound shot for his side this season-snigger, snigger. No wonder Adebayor gave him a smack in the mouth a while back.
