They are, it's turned into the main topic now, but the fault seems to be with Arsenals system & the handling of certain turn styles, negligent according to some Red's fans.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostIt does Jamo but these guys are trying to start a big argument here.
Almost accusing the fans of being Hillsborough like and they wonder why the callers are giving them angry phone calls.
Forged tickets apparently the reason.

I asked a man who would know and his reply was "Just your lot with forged tickets, yet again. But no serious problems to write home about".Originally posted by NicoBernetini View PostMy mate was there, he said there was mass fights and riots with the police, trying to control the fans because the fans tried to get in too quickly or something.

Worrying this - last night I heard from someone who was in the police control room that around 100 of our fans tried to rush the turnstiles about 5-10 mins before kick-off. What is sad is that it was totally expected by the police, and the group had been identified by Merseyside police as a group that always try to get in without tickets for big away games. Apparently the police sent the horses in and controlled the situation, and nothing untoward occurred. The same person said that the vast majority of Liverpool fans behave impeccably, and are considered to be amongst the best fans to have to deal with.Originally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostI asked a man who would know and his reply was "Just your lot with forged tickets, yet again. While it is only right to criticise poor organisation, poor ticket allocations, and shoddy treatment when it occurs, I do think we should also be condemning this minority of our own support with a "get in at all costs" mentality. As MattB has already said in this thread, their behaviour, apparently on a regular basis at away games, is allowing the perception to develop that any problems are "just Liverpool fans trying to get in late without tickets as usual". And by all accounts, we do have much more of a problem with this than any other club.

.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

I suppose a bit naively I arrived, along with thousands of home fans, about 20-25 mins before kickoff and found the away turnstiles in our block had been shut. There was around 100 fans waiting and a gentle stream of reds arriving still.
Everyone starts slowly pushing as more people arrive and they bought about 5 or six police horses in.
There were hardly any stweards around and not that many police actually trying to sort the fans out. I heard one police woman say that there were fake tickets being used and too many people arrived close to kickoff.
It was then a stalemate as you had around a core group of nob heads pushing and abusing the police at the front but then another 100+ idiots behind them still pushing forward as if that was going to help.
But the police had said weren't going to open the gates until those tits moved back away from the turnstiles so they could make enough room for police and stewards to check people through one by one and watch you put your ticket in the electronic checker.
A fair few people were being turned away, and three lads in front me had fake tickets.
So I missed the first goal and just made it in to see Dirk score.
I didn't see the incident that caused them to close the turnstiles, but a better policing/steward presence at the beginning surely would have prevented it.
But it's hard to criticise the police action afterwards when I had to witness the scumbags they had to deal with.

Spot on. A group of our fans seem to think they are above everything and everyone.

It's not just our fans, it's all fans of big clubs. It goes on everywhere all the time.Originally posted by The Glove View PostSpot on. A group of our fans seem to think they are above everything and everyone.
It's nothing new either. At my first FA Cup Final in 1971 many, many people bunked in and there were considerably more than the official 100,000 in the stadium
