    Rafa interview

Praises Kuyt again. Seems to be pretty fond of him, but I get his point of late.

I just feel that the team -& Dirky himself- wouldve benefitted from resting him earlier in the season.
    3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I think you have a point. However maybe Kuyt's performances of late are coming because of Rafa's faith in him. It is hard to know. The problem is that even when he plays exceptionally he is obviously not the ideal player for the position he holds.

Having said that he has helped make us look like a very good team against the lesser PL teams of late and as such forms part of a good base for next year. We now need to add players who will help take the goal scoring load off Gerrard and Torres and provide the added guile we need to worry the likes of United.

I dont think that if Rafa had sat him down & told him the reasons he was leaving him out at the time that it wouldve affected Dirk's confidence or his perception of rafa's belief in him if the conversation had been handled correctly. The circumstances were exceptional & players have personal lives too.

As to your other points, it is difficult to see where DKwould fit in a team with title aspirations. He can certainly do a job in most forward positions, but I think he's be a sqaud player rather than a 1st teamer. His workrate is phenomenal & if he can add his league tally of last year to his CL goal tally of this, then he will undoubetly prove effective. Like you however, I just feel we need more guile, mobility & control on our flanks.

I have my opinions on Dirk as I'm sure everyone else does but whilst he plays for Liverpool I can only praise his immense effort in the red shirt.
