Do you have to have a dig at Rafa with every post?

He's quality. Looked very composed, didn't feel it was his debut, I hope Rafa keeps his faith in him.

wasn't a dig at rafa, you doubting that slur alex hasn't been exceptional in bringing his youth through? him and wenger have been exceptional at bringing through their kids, we in recent times have not.

Bags of potential, like Momo had, but already looks a much more developed passer of the ball.

But have we really had the quality of youth to bring through (until recently)? If they were good enough then maybe they would have gotten a chance.

And yeah Fergie in the past has done well with the youngsters, but how many of their current team came through the ranks?

What youth? Kieran Richardson and Darren Fletcher? Oh you mean those hot prospects he bought for millions of pounds? Or are you talking about the early 90's?

of their regular 11 that played against us wes brown, giigs, scholes. none recent i agree but it has meant that for many years they have not had to spend money on squad fillers or maybes. Whether i like it or not he's done amazing things with anderson, ronaldo and even fletcher.

My point is this kid looks a good prospect, 4th place is within grasp, we should play this kid more and then if alonso does leave in the summer or we see a shock exit from leightweight levia then we do not have to buy another central midfielder and concentrate our limited funds in the areas that will make the most difference to our team.

And its been far too long since a reserve/youth team player stepped up.

What an absolute load of crap. Ferguson had more than 20 years to bring through kids and he hit one purple patch in the mid 90's. He has bought tons of crap and squad fillers.

Fletcher is ****e, Ronaldo wasn't brought through the "youth system" and the same can be said on Anderson, who cost even more than Ronaldo.

If you think Lucas is leaving, you're deluded. The kid was the Brazilian league's player of the year and captains the U-21 side. He's obviously a good player who's settling into a style very different from what he's known before.

If Plessis continues to impress, he'll get his chance. With the new system, we need 5 central midfielders battling for 2-3 spots.

Some people are going overboard in this thread the lad looks ok, but I'd say he has more chance of becoming the next Sissoko than anythung else.

His physique is the same, he just looks to gangly to become a decent CM

he's won the title far too many times than i care to remember with 'tons of crap and squad fillers'

Ronaldo was brought in as a young player, as is Anderson. We've brought in similar young players that were supposedly the next this or that but were never nurtured. Pongolle for me is a prime example

I'll be happy to pick up the lucas conversation at Xmas, seen nothing from him.

he can pass the ball for starters, the only similarity he has with sossiko is that they are both black and speak french

I think the kid had a decent game, kept things simple was composed on the ball and wasn't overawed by the occasion, hopefully he'll get a few more chances this season and can develop into a good player
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
