I had a bet on the arse just in case. Wouldn't have been that bothered so but then again Everton have an easy 3 points today and that 1 point puts us 2 mistakes ahead as our goal difference is an extra point.

That point yesterday could yet be the clincher, as you say it gives us 6 clear at the mo with better goal diff, I'm very glad to have got it.

But don't lets write off Derby yet, they play now just for pride, relegation assured, but strangely enough that can have a calming effect on a teams play, after all it's not as if relegation has come as a shock, they may not run & run today, but they may be relaxed enough on the ball to perform.

I was pleased with the point as it gives us some breathing space if we go further in the Champions League.

6 points with our goal difference means we can lose two games and still be forth.

We had our chance to halt the scum and we blew it.

The only hope anyone has of catching them is chelsea.

Btw,i really can't ever remember wanting Liverpool to lose any game.

I only wanted us to lose once in my entire life, and that was last week, when we played Arsenal in CL. It was because I was so embarrased of our defensive performance, 10 men in our box and Torres in front of it. The second we got the ball, we just hoofed it onto their half into Almunia's hands, not even trying to put together a decent attempt of an attack. That kind of a performance may have been excusable a few years ago, when we had the likes of Traore, Dudek, Smicer, LeTallec playing in our starting eleven. But with a team like we have now, an Italian styled catenaccio is not what I want to watch. I know we got a good result and I only wanted us to lose so we would open up a bit on the next match, but now the 0-0 result suits us and we will probably watch a boring second leg... that's not football for me.

It was 1-1 not 0-0 and that about sums up your post

0-0 in the second leg... which is easily accomplished if you sit on your half and wait for the opponent.

I don't think we are boring at all. More direct than UTD and Arsenal but that's ok. We were dour under Houllier but Rafa likes us to get forward when possible. We dominated the first half yesterday and we looked like the home side

Niether do I. And I wasn't talking about Rafa being a defensive manager (although I do believe he will try to make the second leg safe as excitementless as possible) or about us not deserving a point or more yesterday, I was only speaking of our wednesday's performance, which was horrible in my view.

excitementless - is that a word?

Agree entirely. Every time I watch Liverpool nowadays I am struck with narcolepsy & end up in a coma for days on end.

However, having watched Fibreglass, Pleb and all those other fine specimens of footballing grace these last couple of games, I have felt the sneaky stirrings of a chubby in my pants. God, how I wish we could be like them.

                            3rd place. Worst champions ever.
