    Are we league condenders again

After our defeat at the bridge and Arsenal's victory at Old Toilet it was a 3 horse race for the title

now we are 2pts and 2 places ahead of the Arse (1 game in hand on us)... What will the papers say?

    :whatever:

Heard that tall bloke on Your on Sky sports saying Liverpool are back in the title race again after the win :whatever:
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

To be true title contenders, we have to continue building on our slow start and start taking more than 50% of our goal scoring chances.

Sky's sensationalism is ruining the game, plus I can't be arsed with a 12.45 kick off this weekend.

The consensus in the pub after the game last night that this is a title winning squad - and I agree.

They should drop all midday kick-offs and have the "big game" of the weekend either at 4.00pm on Sunday, or 6.00pm on Saturday.

Gives plenty of time for beer....

That's the point though innit...the biggest games generally involve sets of supporters who don't like each other - hence lunchtime kick offs and no beer (or not as much beer).

I'm sick to death of these early kick offs though.

we are 6 points off the top of the table, 5 behind the Mancs & Chavs, with 99 points still to play for.

I think we are in with a shout.

Instead, you pop into your local Tescos the night before and get a few crates to take on the train with you (if you're the travelling fans)...

I know what you're saying, but it doesn't work anymore with 24hr licensing and supermarkets.

We're waaaaaaaaaaaay out of the title race! SSN said that, so it must be sooo true! Arse is the biggest title contender now! Liverpool is probably going to be relegated, even if we finish above CSKA London, Scum and Arse!

I'd like to hear those tossers when Liverpool win the league. Surely, everyone will be talking about how Arse has improved and how Scum is doing well. What about Liverpool then? oh nothing, they have won FA Cup in 1965.

                            :whatever:

Just been comparing our start to the season to last season and my thoughts are confirmed. If we get 1 point against Spurs on Sat, and I expect us to get 3, we'll have a better points total than we had at the same time last season.

                              2005/2006 Played 6 W 1 D4 L 1 7 Points ( Pld Sprs, Utd, Chelsea)

                              2006/2007 Played 5 W 2 D 1 L 2 7 Points ( Pld Eve A Chels A New H)

We must improve our record against our main rivals and take points off them. If we can there's no reason why we can't win the league. Surely as the season progresses and our new players settle in we will improve further.

I, for one, deffinately believe we can win it so if Sky, and everyone else, want to write us off after just 5 games let them. The pundits the ones who are supposed to understand the game and shouild know better.

Don't you just love being the underdog!!
