I understand what you are saying but when was the last time we had a youngster come through the ranks full stop.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostI understand what you are saying mate but I can't remember the last time we sent someone on loan and they came back a star player in the first team.
Someone will remind me.
If Peter Crouch can't get a game then things ain't looking good for Pachecho at the moment.
Maybe a Carling Cup appearance.
The thing is, these lads need to take their chance when they get the opportunity.
Look at El Zhar for example.
Plessis obviously done a lot right in the reserves for Rafa to pick him at The Emirates but would it be good to send him out on loan now??
I don't know.
I believe they have more chance of developing by playing competitive football week in week out than they have playing in the reserves.
I will also say there is no point sending them out on loan to a club for them to sit on the bench tho.

And nor should they - he's only 16!Originally posted by Shanks007 View Post

Bit of a dull game tonight but well done to the young uns - great stuff.
Nemeth has got to be a better option than Voronin for next season. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Shags, in answer to that and the previous post.
I don't think sending Pachecho on loan to Crewe etc would be in the best interest for him or the club,
so where do we send a young lad that we just bought from Barca to get some decent experience?
I understand he ain't nowhere near the first team at the moment.
I think this kid needs some good coaching around him and I can't see him getting that in the lower leagues.

Rafa's youth emphasis is just reaching its early fruition. Lets see how things go the next few seasons. Plessis on Saturday may be the tip of the iceberg, especially with 2 extra places now on the bench. I expect to see Insua challenging next year, I expect Nemeth and Plessis to be on the fringes, possibly Anderson or Hamill as well. The year after that Pacheco may get a look in and maybe Bruna and Simon. And there'll be plenty more in the years after with Eccleston, Pepper, Ajdarevic, Amoo and others lighting up the younger age groups.Originally posted by Angry Dan View PostI understand what you are saying but when was the last time we had a youngster come through the ranks full stop.

Well I wouldn't even consider loaning him out until he's 18 or so - but by then I'd like to think he'd be ready to break into the first team squad.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostShags, in answer to that and the previous post.

He's been fast-tracked through the Academy and ideally will be more of a regular for the reserves next season before he thinks about 1st team action. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

That means he is gonna be 2 years at the club without any first team experience.
Do you think it would be better to send him out on loan,
or keep him at the club permanently with a view to a few first team appearances via carling cup?
Look at Michael Owen for example.
I'm sure if he does enough then the lad will get his chance.

Well exactly. It's only something that 90% of 16 year old footballers face anyway.Originally posted by Shanks007 View PostThat means he is gonna be 2 years at the club without any first team experience.

With Pacheco, at this early stage anyway, a loan wouldn't be in my plans. Yeah, I think the Owen 'template' would be a good one to follow.
For me he's the very brightest young talent at the club. He's obviously very highly-regarded and he's the one I have the highest hopes for - Nemeth and Plessis included. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Well played lads.
Everyone involved deserves great credit.

Did i hear right though, the winner of this Reserve League plays off against the winner of another...i'm assuming a North/South divide here, as i don't recall us playing the likes of Arsenal or Chelsea?Originally posted by Marky View PostWell played lads.

I don't know about a playoff but I think they said Villa are poised to win the Reserve League South..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

There was an interview with Piet Hamburg about how they develop players and he mentioned that the process follows a rigid set of steps. Something like,Originally posted by andyinswinton View PostYep. Next season we should get some of the lads out on loan to a club in the Championship or perhaps League One and perhaps get two or three involved in the first team.
Congratulations to the reserves though. Its great that they won the league and shows great promise for the future.

I got the impression that going out on loan was the last-chance saloon and not part of the final step. So I'd be suprised if the top class players a la Nemeth et al end up going out on loan. The Crushing Machine MKII
